If the Eagles come out and look respectable, a lot of the criticism will fade away.   If they beat the Cowboys in their house... it will almost entirely evaporate and last week's game becomes mostly a matter of circumstances and a tough spot for the Eagles.  And more importantly, a win against Dallas, in Dallas, would put them back on their confidence and get them back to playing like they are the better team.  Last week, they started that way... then stumbled in the red zone twice, and the entire game went sideways as soon as the quarter changed.

I do agree with you. I also think in the end the scoreline was not reflective of what was a competitive game until late in the third quarter. Don’t get me wrong we got our asses whooped on and deserved it but it was closer than the end score for a long time.

As you say if we go out and win this week then the narrative changes again. It’s just in Dallas they do scare me. That’s an offense that isn’t a good match up for us and a very good explosive defense. We need to play a game we’ve not played all year to this point to win and that’s my real concern. Sunday wasn’t a surprise because we’ve gotten wins this year but never looked convincing.

Any team with an offense isn’t a good match up for our defense.

Haha the last couple of weeks that’s been very true!

Would like to see our defense not play a top 7 offense on short rest against a rested opponent first.

Slay back also

They’ve done that.  How have Mac Jones and Sam Howell looked against them?

Our defense was fine against the Patriots. They scored.

Roby played no games against Washington. Edmunds was awful in the first Washington game.

To be clear, I still think the unit is bad. But we're talking about the difference between awful and below-average. We can still win a SB with a below-average defense.

The defense has the talent to be better than below average. Still think even that isn't good enough and some heads should roll if the season ends poorly in large part because of the defense. Defense is ranked bottom 3 in too many categories for a defense that isn't close to bottom 3 in terms of talent. They aren't even bottom 16 in terms of talent. It's just underperforming.

I always liked my steaks and hoagies on Amoroso's.  Since I have been following these groups, I hear alot of people down on Amorosos and liking the seeded roll 🤷‍♂️

Nah.  No seeds.  These groups are just trying to be contrarian.   Amoroso's is ok.  Liscio's is better, IMO.   There's another company that's supposed to be even better, but I can't recall their name right now ( @just relax knows it, I think).   Amoroso is decent, and they also actually ship theirs out of the area, so its the only one you can get at places outside of the Philadelphia region.

I don’t think the offense is consistent or perfect enough to win a SB with a below average defense.  Not this year.  Last years offense against the 2023 competition…probably.

Below average or awful?  Hard to say.  Their ability to stifle the Giants and Cardinals will determine that.

100% It's scheme and coaching.   Some DC's do far more with less.

Tackling = Coaching

Scheme = Coaching

Situational play calling = Coaching

What do you guys think of Conshohocken bakery? It’s been a while but I remember their bread being pretty good too.

Yeah, I saw that they shipped.  Was thinking of ordering some so I could make some decent hoagies and cheesesteaks out here

It's weird to say... but the bread does make a difference.   Any butcher shop can shave ribeye for a cheesesteak.  Any good provolone cheese works (American in a pinch)... and fried sweet onions can be done anywhere.  The key is to be sure to properly season the meat with SPG.  And likely add a little more G than you think you should.  ;)    But, if you put it on the wrong bread... it destroys the entire thing.

One of my friends told me to try Cape May peanut butter co. stuff and I think a couple people posted about it here as well. Is it worth the price to have it shipped? I thought about ordering some PB cups and some other foods, but shipping is like $10 and I'm not sure the sizes of the stuff. The worst is when you spend like $50 on an order and you get it and feel like you paid for $15 worth of food.

It's incredible. I'm a huge PB guy. Def worth it and get multiple flavors. The butterscotch is so good.

Yeah, he's a long-term loss IMO.

That is all well and good, but years ago I remember hearing about how great Billy McMullen was in practice.

But, if he's so good... why can't he get on the field in the defense?  Its not like the guys ahead of him are lights out right now.  There's opportunity for him to get some action.   Maybe they are afraid of putting him in a nickel spot and losing his confidence and they only think he can handle outside CB right now, and they can't dislodge Slay and Bradberry.  BUT... it is discouraging that we have a guy that could be that good and he's not on the field, meanwhile our defense is scrambling to cover on the back end.   But, so far, Ringo has had EXACTLY ONE defensive snap.  ONE.

Someone... make it make sense.

Ringo doesn't have the hips to play nickel.

Thoughts?

They should have cut Morrow.

Or Penny. There’s no secret, master plan with him where they’re waiting to unleash him. Just be done with him already. He’s a waste of a roster spot and you cut one of your best ST performers instead.

Name 3 teams, ALL-TIME that have done so. Matter fact, give me 1.
