Does anyone actually think winning the "in season tournament" is going to add to any players legacy? The Sixers could have won and it wouldn't change my mind about Embid, Maxey or anyone on the team. It's silly to even consider this having any sort of meaning besides the players cash winnings.

People are too nostalgic about Ertz IMO

And a lot of people are overestimating Jack Stoll, Calcaterra and Alex O.   Combined... they add up to a terrible TE.  Individually, they are even worse.

niners fumble at sea 30

That fumble was pretty hilarious to me. You know in his mind he thought he was going to take it to the house and then boom

Is this something new? Is this in addition to the all star game or does it replace it?

To me, it is less about if Zach Ertz is still good. And more of he’s at least competent and can contribute a little bit more than what you’re getting out of the other three. Plus I figure Jalen hurts probably trusts him more than those other three guys if he had to play and goedert got hurt again

Drew Lock is playing like a good backup QB, but you need more than that vs. SF.

I never said they were good but wanting a player that gets injured a lot to replace those doesn't make sense to me 🤷‍♂️

It's new. I couldn't tell you how they determine which games count towards it but every team was in the tournament sporadically throughout the beginning of the season. You could tell based on the courts and the "city connect" uniforms they had to wear.

I’d argue Sf is playing their C+/B- game today and yet still gonna wind up winning by two scores or more. Would’ve been nice if geno played this game and played like he did in Dallas. Had a chance with the emotional letdown from the niners Super Bowl last week.

Exactly.   Behind Goedert we have guys that are less effective than a Coat rack!   And... IF, just IF, he can offer anything in 12 personnel that might cause a defense to blink, that's a bonus.   Costs nothing and provides more than these other dudes.   You could cut Calcaterra tomorrow, and not replace him at all... and nothing would change.

Apparently an effort to keep up with NFL

Don't you dare look at another player while you score or wave to them

And Calcaterra doesn't get injured a lot, while also providing absolutely nothing?

Goedert also gets injured quite a bit.   So... you'll have to forgive those that recognize that they have literally nothing behind Goedert at TE for seeing a guy that could offer anything and wanting him brought in.  No one is expecting him to be the Ertz of 2017/2018.  But, Ertz in a wheelchair would provide more than Calcaterra.

I’m guessing Calcaterra would go on IR. It wouldn’t really be a loss for us. Still have ertz, stoll and Albert O.

But why celebrate the score is still tied at 0

They have money on the UNDER.

They need to start looking for a replacement to Goedert because of his injury history

"Why don't people accept Purdy". Throws a 5 yard slant that gets 15 yards and 3rd and 10.

I never understood why these night games start after 8. People have these thing called jobs that they get up in the morning for. Why not start at 6 or 7? I had to burn a vacation day to watch this game.

And I lived in Seattle for ten years. I wouldn't have cared about a 4 o'clock start. You could even adjust the times if it is a West Coast game.

Because the west coast matters more.  That’s why.

purdy's road to mvp..lost 3 straight with one player out

Imagine being at this raiders-Vikings game and it is 0-0 with 6 mins left in the game. It’s like building a Delorean and going back to the 30s and watching what football was like

Well, that's not an option today... but Ertz is an option.   It doesn't fix anything, but it might be incremental improvement and a little insurance against another injury to Goedert (or a reinjury, while he plays on a tight timeline to return from that broken arm).
