Penny being inactive week after week is a crime

Great signing.🙄 complete waste of money. But maybe they let him play against his old team……….and then back to the bench he goes.
This team is ridiculous this year.

23 of 27 targets went to AJ and DeVonta tonight. They're just too dependent on those guys and don't really run creative routes with them either. They don't target the middle of the field with Goedert and passes to backs are non-existent. It's like a color by numbers playbook with not a lot of creativity. Julio Jones is a walking corpse out there and get zero impact from their third receiver.

Quez cardio Watkins is not good. The fact he was brought back as a no. 3 wr after his drop in the Super Bowl and performance last year after the commanders game was absurd. He wasn’t worth the $2 mil cap hit. Could’ve just went Oz and saved the money on Watkins.

wait did Sirianni just say Hurts did a good job in his presser....WTF!!!!!! he's been straight garbage

I think the guys with the signs outside the Novacare weren't detailed enough.

RUN THE BALL WITH THE RBs

When Penny was inactive I already knew what was coming.

This team is clearly wasted and beat up. They look listless. No life. Two contending teams in a row with 10 days rest. F you NFL F you. With that being said I was hoping to come out of this stretch with at most 2 losses. There's still a chance for that. Sucks that Reed went down... that should have been a penalty for the runner leading with the crown but whatever.

They can't see Jack when it comes to LB, they just stick their heads in the sand because they have to spend every defensive dollar on the damn d-line and a bit at corner.

I agree, and maybe go a step further, they trained Edwards from the ground up and made him a decent NFL linebacker, I get that he wanted to go home, but offering him a Mil or two more to see if he would stay, would have been better than bringing back both Bradberry and Slay. I'm also starting to believe that Denard Wilson was a better coach than he's given credit for.

Silver linings:

Offense moved the ball well. They stopped themselves more than Dallas stopped them.

Defense played better in the second half and actually got a few 3rd down stops.

Hard to find much else but yeah, that's the most positive spin one can put on this clusterf***

I am not convinced on Dallas not stopping us - yeah we had 3 fumbles but there were some genuinely good plays from them to knock the ball out on our 3 best offensive players. They have to preach taking care of the ball as you go down in practice this week.

It also doesn’t help to go down by two possessions early cause that just justifies Siri and BJs ignorance. They’ll continue to pass even more then.

I'm still going to hang in there with the belief this team can make a deep playoff run, but even if they go out in the divisional round, it would still be an amazing season if you factor in everything as a whole. How teams that go to the Super Bowl typically follow up the following season, a 14-3 or 13-4 season would be an incredible feat. And the amount of turnover they had.

Everyone talks about Quez's speed, but when was the last time they schemed something up to take a deep shot with him?

Hurts has never been good at spreading it around.

In a real offense there are a bunch of reads and sometimes you get to those later reads and other guys get opportunities to make plays.

In a Hurts lead offense your lucky if there's 3 reads in a play.  And why wouldn't the first reads be the best 2 weapons out there?  He's not progressed to the point of having reads beyond those guys.

He's coach speaking.

I don't know what else you expect him to say. He's not going to throw him under the bus in the press conference. But he made some good throws tonight (the one to AJ down the sideline and the pass to Smith in the end zone) and they had the two fumbles by both which basically ended the game.

The Off scheme is way too simplified. Is that on Hurts? I honestly don’t know but it seems more of a coaching coordinator thing to me. You can’t out athlete people in the NFL and that’s what it looks like they’re trying to do. That’s what makes Shanahan really good, scheme and game plan.

Hopefully it’s staged and fake because that’s pathetic

The tone for the offense was set by the Hurts fumble. Game was basically over from a momentum standpoint right there.

Nah .. that wasn't early enough. It was basically over when the Eagles decided the run game was going to run through Hurts and not activate Penny for some 3 headed monster.

Shanahan did try to block Reddick with a TE though lol

I don't know if it's just from watching every game and picking up on patterns, but one of the most frustrating things this season is knowing what type of game it's going to be just by the first three possessions of the game. It's like they follow the same script on queue perfectly for every type of game like this. Defense gets steamrolled the first possession, the offense shoots themselves in the foot, and then it's basically play from behind all game. They can't break that sequence of events or recapture momentum.

Lost a bet probably... Jersey still had tags on it

Eagles are taking it up the proverbial sphincter this game.

This team is broken.

Cowboys 38

Eagles 10

almost had it

accountability would be nice, Hurts is a grown man and needs to be told when he craps the bed

It really doesn't matter what the offense does at this point because the defense isn't even giving them a chance. That game was over by halftime. Yes, you need your offense to score more than zero touchdowns, but 30 wouldn't have gotten it done tonight.

Garbage in. Garbage out.

What do they focus on in practice?

Twiddling their thumbs.

Which are already in their asses.

As the Eagles plummet in the standings, it's worth a reminder that the Eagles would still be the 1 seed right now if the QB didn't literally hand the Jets a win earlier this season. That's the game they should be kicking themselves for.

I’ve been saying and felt this way for about 2 months now, hurts has played 1 complete game this year and it came weeks ago against the commanders at home. Otherwise he’s been super inconsistent. He was a mvp candidate but really he wasn’t playing anywhere as consistent and frankly as close to 2022. The mvp candidates around him were not playing at the level they were until the past couple weeks. He was accumulating turnovers and fumbling the ball at an alarming rate.

There’s times where hurrs has looked mvp-esque. He’ll be 2022 Hurts for a quarter or half or sometimes just a couple of drives. And then the other parts of the game he’s 2021 or even 2020 hurts. Where he locks on to one read. Or turns the ball over or just takes a bad sack. That’s been the story of hurts this year inconsistent with flashes of brilliance.

The issue becomes he cannot play as inconsistent as he has been and making the money that he is. Because you are paying him all that money, there’s gonna be flaws and weaknesses on these teams. But he has to be great and good consistently to help cover for them. We are not gonna win a Super Bowl or beat teams like Dallas or San Francisco getting that type of play out of your Qb.

im hoping it’s just a 2023 issue. I tend to think it’s just 2023 thing. but if it’s not then sadly our best chance to win a Super Bowl might have last year. I tend to believe you’re not likely going to play every year as well as your best year of your career. And you’re not as likely going to be as bad as your worst year in your career. There’s a reason why brady was amazing for what he did. Likely somewhere inbetween and you just hope it’s closer to your best year. Unfortunately that’s not the case this year.

and this isn’t letting other people off the hook. I don’t think AJ Brown has been as good over the last couple weeks even though the stats would say otherwise. I don’t think Dallas Goedert even before the injury has been good as this year. Their oline has not been as good this year. Defense is definitely not good. And the coaching has been not good situationally and game plans. What I’m just saying they need Jalen hurts to play closer and more consistent like 2022. Jalen hurts is the only thing that can help cover up a lot of these problems.

The whole point was to win TOS and keep Dallas offense off the field. Dallas has under sized LBs. You're supposed to run at Parsons. This offense is just dumb. No screen game.... didn't see any wheel routes or texas routes to the backs. No commitment to running the backs. Play action what's that? Everyone literally has to be perfect for this offense to work with all of this talent. Eagles are too basic.
