After taking some time to reflect I’ve concluded that this is a fraudulent team who has gotten lucky all year and doesn’t have the talent to hang with the elite NFC teams. Coaching, personnel, sloppy play, turnovers. It’s just a total sht show with no signs of things changing. We will beat up on some bad teams before the playoffs and then get destroyed again.

Lots of 1 score wins, getting blown out now by two good teams.

If it wasn't for the fact that they had beaten some good teams, they'd exactly be the the Vikings of last year.....

Everyone  knew coming in that the Eagles offense had to sustain drives and "protect” the D by keeping them off the field. Consistently run the ball and take time of the clock. They failed. And it’s the same crap over and over again. Running the ball was working for the most part, but then they go pass happy again. Run the ball until the other team stops it. They were getting 4/5 yards a pop - stay with it.

With all my frustration about the defense this year, they get a pass from me tonight. They’re just not more there talent wise…

Desai has to be better. He can’t wait til halftime to make adjustments. I used to get on Schwartz as he would do that in 2018 and 2019. Has to be quicker and he needs to just be better.

I mentioned this during the game, the Eagles have downgraded to what level at every positional unit.

At linebacker they significantly downgraded. They went from above average with edwards and White to Cunningham, Leonard and Morrow with Dean being often injured. That is a significant downgrade.

At slot corner last year you could use CJGJ and Maddox. Maddox is hurt and you have Roby. So there is a significant downgrade.

At safety CJGJ was significantly better than what we are getting from byard. Epps stayed healthy and was solid. Blankenship has been good but missed time. And backup Reed last year was better than brown, edmunds and Evans. Brown played well tonight so maybe he turns the corner. So again you have downgraded. I would say not significant, but it’s definitely a downgrade.

Outside Corners are the same names  but  not as good as last year. Bradberry has been this way in his career. Good one year then regress the next. Slay has been solid just not as good as previous years. That’s a downgrade

the DT rotation is not as good. Suh and Joseph are definitely missed. Hargrave is missed as he was a pro bowler week in and week out for 17 weeks plus playoffs. As great of upside as Carter has he’s a rookie playing way more snaps than ever in his career. He’s hitting a wall. Davis while not a rookie is playing way more snaps than he ever has. I’d argue Williams has completely disappeared from where he was at the end of last year. So again, I will say this is significant downgrade when you consider your rotation not as strong and Hargrave is definitely be missed because as great of a talent Carter is, he’s not where hargreave is yet.

at defensive end graham, reddick and sweat are still good. But playing way too many snaps. Smith hasn’t done much. And guys feel like they are playing too many snaps cause of lack of depth. And as great as reddick is, he was unbelievable down the stretch last year. That’s a downgrade.

then add in desai being here in his first year and likely on over his head. It’s not unrealistic to see the significant drop off in the defense. Do i think they should be better than this? Yes but i tend to think they’d get lit up by teams like Sf or Dallas unless their pass rush played well

This team needs serious DE help. The fact that a 35 year old Brandon Graham is our top DE option during a SB window making 23M/year is a massive, crushing Howie fail.

That’s a bigger issue cause smith can’t get on the field consistently and Barnett wasn’t good and brought back to be part of the rotation.

their DT rotation is brutal too. Losing suh and Joseph hurt. Relying on Cox to be a mainstay at DT at his age is ridiculous.  Wtf happened to Milton Williams? Carter and Davis it makes sense. Neither has played close to the amount of snaps they are going to see this year. And frankly neither has ever played 17 games so there was gonna likely be a drop off as the season continued.

Hurts threw 27 passes and targeted 3 people the entire game. Zach Wilson threw 27 completions to 7 different players. One QB won today, the other did not.

Bring in Reich as consultant and Ertz as a back-up TE.

This team needs to commit to the run a little more, sustain drives and have at least a 4th option in the passing game (Quez, OZ, Jones, Stoll ain't it) who wont get many looks but we need at least someone the D cant totally ignore

They need too many things. Next year will be even worse. They will need at least one OL, slot WR, help all along the DL, two LB, at least one S, and at least one CB. Basically a new team. This year they are screwed.

Siri is a limp deek pussah.

With the talk about Pitt trading Tomlin I'd take him in a second for Nick.

So the eagles have 19 turnovers on the year. Hurts has 15 of them. Aj, smith, gainwell, and swift make up the other 4.

also in 3 games against the niners and cowboys, the eagles defense has two takeaways and one came at the end of the first Dallas game where lamb was trying to keep the play alive and fumbled it.

Playing in January? Double digit wins? another div crown?

You'd rather be the Giants, Titans or Minnesota?

I didn’t say I would rather be any of those teams… Ultimately the goal is the SB and that’s extremely unlikely with this team now.

I haven't watched the highlights, but i can imagine exactly how this game went, and how i knew it would. Unless something dramatically changes over the next few weeks we'll be one and done in the play offs.

Disappointing but we were never going to win this game, and never going to recreate last years success - that was clear to see from the few first games were we played ok, torched on D and won by one score.

We only beat the good teams because of luck and drops and now we've played 2 of the best 2 teams in the NFL every aspect of our weakness has been showed and is clear for all to see.

Disappointing to say the least.

And I think that’s what is so disappointing and what others are missing. Like we won some of those games because we were the better team but Buffalo and KC are not right now in the top 5 teams in the league. And both teams had real opportunities to beat us and missed plays.

The O on this team is too arrogant and too sloppy. Can't keep giving the ball away and half assing it. Hurts started the ball rolling with yet another fumble and others continued. We can complain about some coaching etc, but those players need some humbling. Gotta earn it out there fellas

I hoped they'd adjust after last weeks spanking, but clearly they needed another one.

What can the D do if the O just ain't doing their part? 2 weeks in a row they've pulled up a dud

No, not compatible.

Relax. An NFL season is a marathon.

It is yes… But being blown out by your 2 conference rivals is really bad. I’m not sure why some aren’t really concerned about it?

And this team hasn’t played a full 4 quarters all season. They’ve had ball security issues all season. The defense has been atrocious all season. They’ve had a lot more luck go their way than normal, and now back to back weeks of not belonging on the field.

Early in the year, people scoffed at the idea of comparing us to last year’s Vikings. Winning was blinding many into thinking this team was actually as good as their record, but this team is showing they are just like the 2022 Vikings, the 2021 Titans, and the 2020 Steelers. Teams that aren’t nearly as good as their record shows.

Desai has had a rotating cast of talent to work with all season.

The O has largely been very, very healthy. Some issues are coaching.scheme, but there is only so much you can do when the QB is only throwing to 2 players and can't throw a hot route. Teams know to double on AJ and they'll get a limited scheme to defend

Tatergeddon

This team realistically needs:

At least one starting caliber safety. Reed is okay and Brown shows flashes, but still isn't there. Byard is slow and washed.

Three LBs. Cunningham and Morrow both suck and Dean is an injury prone Smurf.

Corners that aren't old and washed.

DE depth. Sweat looks gassed. Graham is leaving.

OL depth. Kelce is going to be gone soon. Lane is going to be gone soon. Jurgens has been banged up all year.

TE depth. Goedert is injury prone and our backups are garbage.

A slot WR....Quez ain't it.

New coordinators on both sides of the ball.

This team isn't going to seriously compete for a couple of seasons unless there is a drastic infusion of new, young talent that can play right away. It is what it is.

I mean it’s a huge fing issue AJ. It isn’t the only issue far from it but it’s a big fricking issue!

Ball security screwed them out of making it a game in the first half.  And it has screwed them a lot in recent games.  They gave away 6 maybe up to 14 points in the first half.   Imagine a halftime score of 24-12 or 24-16, or maybe even 24-20.  Who knows how the second half plays out if the offense actually played like they know how to play?

Eagles have dropped from #1 seed to #5.

Call it a fluke but ball security played a big part in losing the SB. I just have no idea what the hell AJ even means here. The coaches stress about it all the time. Seems to be a real disconnect with coaching and players.
