How are you going to feel about the Eagles if they beat the Seahawks next Monday night…

but do so only because they are up 3 and DK Metcalf drops a TD pass that hits him in the chest as time expires.

but do so only because Drew Lock accidentally steps 1cm out of bounds on a game winning TD run at the end of regulation.

but do so only because a 68 yard kick double doinks in off the lower goal post and they score a TD on the opening drive of OT after a 70 yard PI call.

Because that’s comparable to how they’ve won almost 10 games this year.   Would we be back in just win and be happy mode, or would the skepticism continue to increase if they win one of those against Seattle?

This to me is fixable. Defense on the other hand... well... I don't think anyone has many answers. Maybe rest and more rotation to keep guys fresh on the DL helps.

It does seem like the offense is fixable but that would assume the coaches acknowledge all of this and make a change. Not bloody likely but there's hope? Do what you're good at seems pretty obvious you would think. I also don't think there's any chance the defense is as bad as they have been playing. There is way too much talent there to be as bad as giving up 66 points in the last 11 straight possessions. That's criminal. This team is bad literally everywhere right now expect special teams. Is this bizarro world?

yep. and his route is only 1 yard short to even if he doesnt break a potential tackle attempt, hes likely falling for the 1st anyway. That was the way to go if there was a fraction of a second more. Thats assuming Hurts wasnt going to just lock on to the 1st read and throw to Smith anyway- which I think he would have.

Yeah i don’t think hurts eyes were coming off smith

Normally he locks on then runs around breaks pockets and Tries to improvise. I doubt he makes his way back to AJ.

A win is a win.

I'd like the birds to repeat as NFCE Champions as it hasn't been done in over a decade.

Take the playoffs as they come.

At this point, any small step forward is likely a bigger one given current situ.

I seriously would trade Nick for Tomlin if the Steelers would be dumb enough to do it. Nick and his emotions will only go so far when he loses the locker room because they realize he doesn't know what he is doing. He has horrible coaches under him and he doesn't have a good offensive mind. I think it's about to get ugly.

Tomlin and Siri are similar coaches if you can get past offense guy / defense guy, white / black, weird and loud / stoic….

but they really are.  Both are player’s coaches who are NOT do-it-all scheme guys.  They really lean on their coordinators.  I agree that Tomlin is a great HC, but he’s not the guy to win with bad coordinators either.

That’s old Belichik, Parcells, AR, Mcvay, Shanahan, Carroll.  They all have flaws too, but coordinators are more mindless cogs in a machine for those guys.

This shouldn’t be a question anymore. This team is flawed. They are NOT who we thought they were. Seattle isn’t on the level of Dallas or San Fran.

No one would feel confident with that because of the past two weeks. Hell, even if they win their remaining four games 42-7 I don't think anyone would be fully confident in a playoff rematch against either SF or DAL based on how they got dog-walked by both.

Yeah... the 3rd down thing has caught up to them. Not getting on the field with all the extra snaps has taken its tool. They're usually pretty good at rotating the DL but hasn't been possible in some instances.

I didn't suggest drama. I'd take repeat NFC East Champions for a start.

what a clown take

The disturbing part about the past two games is that a lot of people's fears with this team came true even if they recognized the issues prior, yet repressed them during the 10-1 stretch and chalked it up to "this team just finds a way to win games". Hell, I'm guilty of it. I was banking on them putting the pieces together and finally delivering an A game and I was wrong. Maybe that has to do with them being run down, maybe it had to do with both SF and DAL coming off 10-day rest, or maybe it comes down to that this is just who this team has been all season long: a C+ team.

Thats the play I was saying AJ was wide open on. May have had just a bit too little time to throw it there. The RB and the RG are the ones who lost too quikly there. At that point in the game was it still Jurgens or was that Opeta?

That's Jurgens

Out of all the bad calls that happen in games on a weekly basis. The ones that should be getting all the attention like this situation has, dying on that hill for a play that was actually a penalty is hilarious.

The way Shanahan or McVay would use DeVonta in their offenses would set the league on fire. Putting him in the hands of Nick/BJ is a crime.

Im fine with it. I just want the best team. I dont care if its the best team by a razor thin margin, or if it has a gigantic + point differential (though thats obviously more fun and less stressful). As long as they keep beating everyone else Im happy.

Jokes on you i thought that from the start of the year. It’s too difficult after losing a SB to get back. It hasn’t happened in the nfc in forever. Only team recently that has done it was the patriots.

my bigger concern is the long-term issues with some of the coaching and personnel on one side of the ball. not sure how you fix a defense with declining players and a ton of holes quickly. Can add some FA but really got to draft and let guys develop like the chiefs did.

I agree they (Nick and Brian) haven't utilized Smith well

Color me skeptical.

What is this "motion" you speak of?

Would be different if they were losing games but at least showed up. They’ve shown zero desire to win the last 2 weeks in the biggest games of the year. Zero urgency. They just plain quit. Hard to be emotionally invested in a team that does that. I love the Eagles but have lost most excitement for this season.

I'd feel fine. Are you hot in the playoffs is what matters. Once the playoffs start regular season no longer matters. A win gets them closer to a bye if the Niners don't win out.
