Good point. Forgot about that!

Frank almost got fired twice one year into a job. That's rough.

Even beyond that, they force losers like Scangarello on their HC and make the offense broken beyond repair.

I just don’t see their impatience as some overwhelmingly positive thing here.

What an a-hole. Some sportsmanship, instead of respect to Allen he complains about the call.

He's an entitled brat. Chiefs have had so many bad calls go their way.

JFC, what a sore loser b**ch

Patience is needed when we're rebuilding, but a sense of urgency might be needed when we're poised to make a run at a title. Not saying it wouldn't be a very risky move to bring in outside help to fix some of the things that are broken, but it's a risk I'm willing to take (at least with the defense) to help right the ship in time for the playoffs.

Eagles or Jalen Hurts?

Hurts, of course.  Even playing a pick-up game in a rec league the QB should understand spreading the ball around to all the targets to keep the defense honest.

I've always been a big believer the passing offense should be AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert.  Between those three guys, they should see 75-80% of the targets -- but it's been clear for quite awhile Hurts force-feeds Brown and Smith to the exclusion of everyone else.  They're two excellent WRs, so it's not an egregious failure most weeks, but Hurts needs to get better using the whole field and the whole offense at his disposal.

Yes.

Unfortunately the plans and play design looks like it encourages this behavior.

Best fans in the world go to worst fans in the world real quick with this Siri heat. The guy is 10-3 and mofos acting like he 6-7

I'm not sure.

Howie/Lurie were right about Groh/Taylor. Doug does have trouble assembling a staff. Keep in mind that Howie hired Schwartz for Doug. Still, the Scangarello hire was a disaster.

Hopefully Nick is willing to do what Doug wasn't and proactively change his staff.

Without some luck they would have 6 wins. DC not going for 2, Chiefs, Bills, Cowboys and maybe Vikings should have won. They also got blown out two weeks in a row. It's how they lost. That's why we are upset.

Johnson looks like he is coaching to his comfortability rather than to the players ability.   Swift is best in space, but no designed screens to get him there.  Brown is amazing at quick slants, but rarely do we see that.  Smith is amazing coming back to the ball and working the sidelines.  Goedert is great at the TE screen and exploiting the middle downfield.  All players would benefit from movement on offense.  Defenses just get to line up and wait until we snap the ball, rarely having to adjust on the fly.  To me, this is all on coaching.

In the SF game Stoll was wide open a couple of times downfield, and Jalen just past right over him in the progression.  I'd like to see Goedert get more involved, as he had only 4 targets on Sunday.  Ferguson had 8 targets for context.

Don't forget that Smith and Brown should have dropped more passes, Elliot missed kicks, and key calls go against them. Heck, they should probably have only 2 wins because of all the luck they've had, right? Great rearview logic like this ONLY holds for the Eagles because no other teams have the ball bounce their way, ever.

Johnson and Siri. These are mostly Siri's designs.

Lol I did forget the Cowboys should have won the first game as well. Dude, they looked shaky all year and got blown out the last two weeks that you cut from my post. When you look shaky and get blown out by the best teams in the NFC then yeah fans are fully justified to be this upset. That's the point.

Agreed - it would be a nice development if the offense could learn to check it down to Swift.  Pollard had 7 receptions on Sunday, meaning that Dak didn't always have to get hit or make a tough throw when the primary/secondary read didn't pan out.

Not shockingly, my perception from this previous post does not equal reality.  Brown/Smith/Goedert actually got 65.3% of the targets in 2022 and have gotten 64.4% of the targets this season.

Carry on, Hurts.

One quick comment about the game on Sunday night.

Since 2006, Eagles opponents have attempted nine field goals from 58 yards and beyond. They've made eight of them. The odds of a kick being made from that distance is roughly the same as a very good baseball hitter getting a hit. Roughly.

So basically over the past seventeen years the Eagles have faced Wade Boggs nine times and have only gotten him out once. I'm too lazy to calculate the odds of something like that happening, but I've got to think it's about one percent. Good hitters actually make outs much more often than not.

We're NOT imagining it. This idea that "other teams don't miss LONG kicks against us" is valid. I've gotten to the point where I just resign myself to the fact any such kick is going to be made.

I remember Siri doing a lot with the RBs in the pass game at Indy, Nyheim Hines was grabbing like 60+ receptions/year during that timeframe

10-3 is 10-3.  You are what your record says you are -- so said Bill Parcells (in one of the only intelligent things he ever said).

I was reading posts in here last night that the Eagles aren't even going to be able to beat the Giants and Cards.  SMH.  Go watch basketball if that's how you feel, folks.  Save yourselves the broken ankles of jumping on and off the bandwagon -- at least until Embiid falters again.

Nothing is more frustrating about Sirianni's offenses than his refusal to have the RB catch passes out of the backfield. Reid, for all his flaws, at least understood the value of this as a pseudo-replacement for a lack of carries out of the backfield.

Coming off a SB year, losing key players to FA, adding a new OC and DC and looking at arguably the toughest stretch in a schedule in recent history, what were your expectations? If they win vs the Hawks, which is a really tough place to win, and they come out of that stretch 4-2 are we then going to complain about style points?

Funny thing is, Scarangello was supposedly brought in for his expertise in pre-snap motion. He never seemed to be able to implement that with our team. And years later, its still lacking.

You have to wonder how much of that was at the behest of Reich though.

Yeah you might be right.  Also, it might be a Jalen thing - sometimes I get the feeling, particularly last year, that he'd rather grab the yards himself then risk putting the ball in the air and get a drop.  At this point, he doesn't have much wiggle and I don't want him taking the hits... let the other guys play.
