Eagles or Jalen Hurts?

Not really sure why he’s surprised. Talked about this for weeks now. They have basically 3 reliable receivers and the rest you never know what is gonna happen when you throw them the ball. And hurts appears to really only trust smith, brown and goedert so he hardly looks or goes to those progressions. It’s why I’ve said for weeks this offseason they have to upgrade their no. 3 wr and get another option cause it makes them easier to defend.

Coming off a SB year, losing key players to FA, adding a new OC and DC and looking at arguably the toughest stretch in a schedule in recent history, what were your expectations? If they win vs the Hawks, which is a really tough place to win, and they come out of that stretch 4-2 are we then going to complain about style points?

Stop.

Agreed - it would be a nice development if the offense could learn to check it down to Swift.  Pollard had 7 receptions on Sunday, meaning that Dak didn't always have to get hit or make a tough throw when the primary/secondary read didn't pan out.

Yeah, they way the let Pollard kinda of float within 5 yards of the LOS is smart.  And he did a great job of moving with Dak during scrambles to make himself available for that short throw so Dak didn't have to run

Nothing is more frustrating about Sirianni's offenses than his refusal to have the RB catch passes out of the backfield. Reid, for all his flaws, at least understood the value of this as a pseudo-replacement for a lack of carries out of the backfield.

That was mostly a last year thing, though.  2021 the RBs got 105 targets, only 61 all of last season, but it's 79 so far this year which is on pace for 103 targets.  When I looked up the Chiefs and Turds, their numbers hover around 110-120 per season to the RBs.  DAL was only 85 targets all of last season.

How effective it is (or isn't) in the Eagles offense is another question.  Over that 3-year span, the yards per catch for the RBs is a paltry 4.8 -- definitely need to do a better job of scheming Swift and Gainwell into space.

Because I live in a reality that can handle setbacks, disappointments, and don't think a team owes me something for my allegiance to it? You stop. This whining in here, and you are a big part of it, makes Mahomes look like James Bond stoically accepting getting his nuts smashed.

Johnson and Siri. These are mostly Siri's designs.

Are you sure about that?  Siri seems like the type of coach who gives his coaches room.

Lol yeah ok. It's reality we are pissed about. Your reality is drinking the juice.

Best fans in the world go to worst fans in the world real quick with this Siri heat. The guy is 10-3 and mofos acting like he 6-7

Getting blown out back to back, losing to Jets, not fixing any defensive issues we’ve had since the 2nd half of last year’s Super Bowl. Team is playing with low effort, physicality, and creativity. Idk what your record is, if you can’t get your players to get up to do their job you need new coordinators or a new coach. Went from one of the best 1st half team’s last year to one of the worst this year. Worst defense in the league. Terrible first half offense. Terrible turnovers ever single week. No Rhythm on offense for 65% of games.

10-3 in nail biters against almost every team including losing to Zach Wilson. Blown out against NFC playoff worthy teams.

If there’s no improvement, he’s getting bounced first round and will be out of a job.

Pulled out an old college textbook to find a binomial chart.

The odds of a .350 hitter (excluding the real life notion of a player being "hot" or "slumping" -- let's just assume a random 35% chance) going 8 of 9 is .0001.

Yet here we are.

@Next_Up not going to like the reality in your good post

What are the odds of a .750 hitter having an 0-3 stretch?

Exactly the coach they want doesn’t exist

Perfection doesn’t exist. What happens if this guy actually has an inevitable bad year like every other coach in existence has had? We gonna run him out of town and act like he is Joe Staley?

Desai Fing sucks that is the problem nobody gives up that many tds back to back

Spadaro confirmed it. I always suspected it.

Remember before the season how we felt we may have downgraded a few spots on D, but the D shouldnt have to have such incredible levels of talent to produce beyond what they produced for Gannon? So most of us surmised that even a slight dip in talent, with a competent DC the D as a whole might actually preform better (it is still a talented defense).

Well, our expectations were off base. Desai is far worse than we hoped, or even could have imagined he would be.

AJ’s route tree versus the Cowboys lmao. What a waste of talent, 2 routes towards the middle of the field with one of the most physical WRs in the league. Everything else is towards the sideline where DBs have to defend less, and create tighter windows

I didn't watch the game last night but Fangio gave up 28pts and 300yds+ passing to the Titans (and he actually has CBs, right?).  Maybe this scheme is just beat...

Fine to be pissed and talk football. There is a lot wrong with this team. Both OCs have been outcoached in every way in the last two games. Talk football or act like Mahomes at the end of the last game. Your choice, Sunshine.

This is kind of how it goes when you have a successful team. Lots of bandwagon fans who jumped on board the past few years, especially on social media, who probably didn't even have to suffer through 2020 Wentz which wasn't that long ago and don't know how to handle losing. Who didn't have their Thanksgiving ruined in 2015 by Eric Rowe and don't know who Ricky Manning Jr is.

And the pain goes back further. I'm disappointed by the past two games and hope they can turn it around despite my concerns. But overall you have to be happy and live in the moment of the past two seasons. You don't get a shot of going 14-3 every year and the playoffs. Be thankful for it because when it's gone it's not fun times. Lots of people who have been fans longer than I've been alive on here who can attest to that.

Is he worse than 2021 Gannon... hmmm.

What an a-hole. Some sportsmanship, instead of respect to Allen he complains about the call.

He's an entitled brat. Chiefs have had so many bad calls go their way.

Poor guy had to play in the Super Bowl last year in State Farm stadium his biggest sponsor, have the SOD Father put together a crappy field so our DE's wouldn't be able to hit him and only got 6-7 bogus calls to help him win the Super Bowl.  IT"S NOT FAIR

Yes, there's a lot of hindsight going around. No one, not a single person on the planet thought the Eagles defense would be among the worst in the NFL level bad. Many said the turnover and sack numbers aren't going to be repeatable, but they will look better prepared against better offenses, because Gannon was a clown.

Now all of a sudden it's "Desai doesn't have the talent to work with."

This is a great example of what was posted earlier. That the scheme relies on the most difficult and low percentage throws from Hurts to his wide outs. Remember in his first year when the critique was he could only throw to the middle? The OC's scheme doesn't include enough lower return higher probability options.

It's a perfect storm of they don't have the talent and the DC probably just isn't very good.

LOL dude I honestly like your posts so I really am not looking to get into it with you. Think what you want but saying this team is fortunate to not have 6 or 7 wins isn't crying nor is being upset they got blown out. This team is an epic mess when it shouldn't be. Coaching is 1000% the biggest issue with this team (we agree) and that's why I'm personally so pissed off right now. That is talking football. The way it's been coached they deserve to have more losses but the talent on the field bailed them out and honestly has covered their flaws most of the season. They just played two teams where talent alone couldn't match cohesive teams with good plans. Not many of us want to see them lose against Seattle but that won't fix the issues. The point is to win the SB and the coaches are going to keep that from being possible. They have been lucky these issues weren't fully exposed earlier.
