Apparently this is Drake’s clothing brand. Who’s spending $80 on a T-Shirt?

There are people that spend $300+ on designer t-shirts. Someone will pay $80 for a shirt with Drake's design.

That jacket is nice though.

He can keep that $900 jacket

Quick musing on speed…

I like objective speed in pass catchers and pass rushers.  It doesn’t mean they’ll be good.  But it’s an objective explosive trait that sets them up for success.  And if you have someone who pathologically lacks it (Barnett, JJAW, etc), then it limits their success.  Those are downhill positions where superior explosion helps get the job done.

In the secondary and at LB, players read and react.  A 4.3 speedster can get torched if they are consistently making wrong reads and false steps.  It’s still nice when they have great speed, but you have more unspectacular athletes turn into spectacular players at these positions than at others.

But a deficit is a deficit.  Our back 7 is S-L-O-W.  There is an extremely high level of experience and there should be very few missteps and broken coverages.  They just can’t hang with anyone.  And with the exception of Brown and Ringo, the young guys don’t move well either.

I mean this in the best possible way, and with much affection.  When you discuss foot speed I picture you speaking in the same way this girl sees a train:

Speed is more valuable on defense than offense.

We're a top offense, yet have one of the slowest offenses in the NFL.

Correcting that would at least have made the game closer. I do think they can do more to scheme some guys open but hopefully they're holding on to those looks for the playoffs.

They're not saving or holding anything back. The same way it isn't some master, genius plan to save Penny.

I think they are. Not on the Penny thing... but can't show the whole hand to teams that you know you may face in the playoffs.

Was he even a good DC? Clearly not meant to be a HC.

I'd rather not use Penny the rest of the year at all. If they start using him and he plays well it's just gonna piss me off more that they were too ignorant to never use him.

Brian Johnson is just the young offensive mind to help turn things around for the Chargers and unlock all of Herbert's talents 😉 🤣

Do you think they are purposefully putting the #1 seed, the bye, and homefield advantage at risk because they'd rather lose a couple games to SF and DAL to not show their hand?

No

People said the same thing last year about not showing their hand until the playoffs and I just didn't get it. They protected Hurts in the last Giants game because he was coming off the shoulder injury and the goal was to keep him healthy going into the playoffs and get him the bye. And the biggest difference in the two playoff games against NYG and SF was that the defense was lights out. That isn't the case this year and really hasn't been for the most part of the season. Unless if you think that it's the defense who doesn't want to show their hand, but that makes just as little sense.

Did you guys hear?

The Seahawks have the 31st late down offense in the NFL. They play the worst late down defense in the NFL. If they get lit up on Monday night on 3rd down by a terrible 3rd down offense, it's Fire Desai territory

I never even looked up the score of that game until just now.  They gave up 63 points to a team who lost 3-0 last week.  That's hard to do.

I'm guessing you mean the Seahawks, but your point stands.

Desai just needs to be better.

Even more impressive, they almost had a 50 burger at halftime.

Some of the stats they were going through on this defense on today's ALLPHLY were embarrassingly bad. Basically on every distance on 3rd down they're about 13 percentage points worse than the league average and of like 448 defenses from 2010 to 2023 they're 443rd ranked on 3rd down. Just for comparison's sake, they compared it to the 2017 Eagles 3rd down defense which was 4th of 448 on 3rd down.

If they do not win the Super Bowl, I think the changes will come at the position coach level. I think they will be on both sides of the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if Duce isn't brought in as a RB coach again.  One thing is certain.  Howie isn't going to take the blame.  I don't think there is a talent issue.  This is an underperforming defense at this point. Heads will roll if it doesn't get fixed through the playoffs.

God I hope not

Why would a Philly twitter account bring that up

9 teams have 8 wins. 8 of the 9 teams have started only 1 qb all year

Cleveland has started 4, and has won at least 1 game with every one of them.

Stefanski is my coach of the year
