I’m guessing everyone who wanted ringo over bradberry might see how ringo does. Just not for bradberry

Should be a wake up call for most fans.  All due respect to Ringo, the chances of him coming in and playing at Slay’s level is next to zero.   Slay gets a lot of heat around here (some justified)  but mostly not justified.   I guess we’ll see.

Pete Carroll bit his lip chewing gum. It all balances out.

He gives his jaw a workout.

Who is Mullins?

I have a strange feeling that part of the reason why he was out there last game was because they had a feeling slay was likely going to need this surgery before the playoffs. So they got him some reps in that game.

Nick used to be SF Qb. When we had that wentz vs. Mullens game in 2020

Everything just feels like amateur hour. Not that this move is a bad thing, but this reeks of like "We're desperate for answers" vibes.

There's only one move left....the players only meeting!

I really thought Monday would be a get right game, but man, today is a whirlwind of news. I have no idea what to expect anymore.

Don't think a self scouting will help

Most of the heat at Slay is directed at the defense in general, and at him, specifically, for how he's handled the criticism of the defense.

But, the back 7 has been BAD.  As a unit, they have been horrific.  And I have a really hard time singly out one guy while the entire group is a dumpster fire, and say, "Yeah, that ONE GUY played well, it was all the other 6."  Ultimately, as a unit, they aren't good and he's part of that.

With Ringo, they might be worse, no doubt.  But, after all the effusiveness coming from Brown about how he makes him better in practice each day... let's see if Brown was blowing smoke or if there's something to that.

The wake up call needs to hit the coaching staff and the players on that side of the ball (and the rest of the roster, and coaching staff for that matter too)... not the fans.   The defense has been horrid, not just bad over the last half of the season.  They had a good night against Miami, but they didn't have to face both Waddle AND Hill, Waddle came and went in the game and was basically a complete non-factor.  Since that game, they have been a major disappointment, and then the disappointment turned into embarrassing in the last two games.   10 scoring drives for TDs out of 11 scoring drives in a row is historically bad, not just 'bad'.

It seems no middle ground could exist for this game.  This is either a circle the wagons moment where they rally and overcome, or they just crumble like a house of cards.

Not a big fan of this move.  They have 3 vets... Byard (who is still relatively new to the system), Slay (who just had surgery) and Bradberry.   And then they have a pile of 2nd year or rookie players on the back end.  Not enough NFL experience to really put this on them.

Is this a strong veteran leadership move, or a vote of no confidence for the coaching staff by the veterans?

Seems like a Pedro Cerano moment...

They've lost faith in Jobu... and its time to do it themselves.

Cincy is 31st ranked but don't look like complete 💩 like the eagles

well now they're looking like a 31st ranked defense

Not that injuries ever come at a good time, but here and now it’s terrrible timing. Slay is part of that atrocious defense and I hated how he ran his mouth, but his play for the most part was solid. Him being out will not make things easier or better.

Hurts being ill and Jürgens probably being out doesn’t help either. We pretty much needed all hands on deck for this tough game after two blowout losses, but things are not looking good.

Based on what is he not a downgrade?

Stable or improved pass protection or running holes from the right side of the OL?  Stability/availability at RG?

I'm not seeing any decline in the play of the RG vs. last year other than missing some games due to injury.

that drive ends with an int

I wonder if they will pan to his wife

Vikings don't have half the Eagles talent on D, but play respectably almost every game since October.

Coaching. Harrison Smith is slower than Kevin Byard.

So who gets the call playing outside with Bradberry, Ricks or Ringo? I’m betting Ricks.

Should be Ricks

Much prettier out here in Seattle than Philadelphia, that's for sure.

Called this months ago, knew he'd come back.

The secondary has been no better as Slay/Bradberry/Byard/Blankenship/Roby in its most intact state than it was with a smattering of first and second year udfas as revolving doors.  Yeah yea the QBs improved, but there has been zero improvement from the secondary when everyone got healthy and the vets got continuity.  Zero.  If anything, they’ve been getting worse.

I understand that Slay is a seasoned vet that *MIGHT* be playing at a higher level than he’s being bashed for…and Ringo could be much worse…but the secondary as a whole can’t be.

Guys are open early every play.  Maybe Ringo becomes the most consistent and targetable conduit for that gashing, but the gashing itself literally can’t get worse than it already was with Slay in the lineup.

We could've had jefferson

damn mullins fs up again

He had control but that is an int

What a catch by Higgins!
