As much as people want to complain about BJ/Nick and they certainly play a role, this feels like a 60/40 problem split with the 60 belonging to Hurts. Guys are getting open, he’s just playing dumb, turnover-prone football.

They also aren't making the game easy for him either.  The design is for harder throws...  The breakdowns don't matter 60/40, 50/50, 30/70.  Who cares?    Sirianni, Johnson and Hurts are the biggest issues with this offense.

Hurts didn't draw up plays where multiple receivers end up in the same place on the field.
Hurts doesn't draw up the WR screens that don't work.

He does turnover the ball way too much.  That's on him.  He's making bad reads, and he's making bad decisions on YOLO throws.  But, when do the coaches make his job easier?   Take some of it off his plate.   Let him play from under center so that every snap isn't a read for him, but a straight handoff.

It's not just Hurts.  Johnson has no feel for the game and just dials up random play calls. He is in way over his head.

Please share your evidence for that.

The majority of the outcomes are a result of decisions Hurts makes.  Run or screen based on the box count.  Where he throws based on coverage.

We could have kept a drive going at the end of the second half if Hurts had thrown a crosser to Smith.   But noooooo, he chucked one downfield to his buddy.

I think it does. And I think that replay can look very different if you look at it in 2 different frame rates. One might catch a few frames of toes on the ground, and another might completely miss the point in time when the toes are on the ground.

Theres an unnatural smoothness to the way his leg changes motion from heading towards the ground, to coming back up again. I think we are missing frames on that replay.

Remember when I said it was too early to pay Hurts and the Blog ripped me a new one?

Enjoy your bum ass QB fellas.

Hurts doesn’t have the QB talent to be able to be coached by "anyone”. Not saying he can’t be a good NFL QB but let this be a lesson learned for other HCs or potential HCs, when you get a QB that needs good coaching, then go find good or great coaching.

I really don’t understand the dumb crap these HCs do when it could mean their job. Just like Pederson promoting Mike Groh to OC.

I sound like a broken record but Johnson and Desai were horrible hires with a crap ton of risk, and Sirianni just has gotten bit in the butt

Hurts has been garbage these last few games and has surely regressed, but our coaching has been atrocious particularly on offense.  It was the right move stripping Desai and the same should happen with Johnson.  It should’ve happened first.  There’s no lack of talent on offense.

I know it has more wins. But is Anyone else getting "dream team" vibes off this team?

For me, it’s more vibes of 2005 Eagles (this squad is much better though) and, more exactly, an amalgamation of the 2018 and 2019 Eagles.

SB hangover.  People want to get paid after having career years in the SB year…and you’ve got more expensive players performing at a lower level, which is only exacerbated by the losses we incurred in freeing space to pay the guys coming off career years.

Siri isn’t a good enough HC to avoid turbulence when losing coordinators.  Hurts hasn’t been a good enough QB to justify a mega deal.  The still popular recent drafts that went insane on the interior DL aren’t actually producing a DL that rushes the passer or stops the run, even though everyone is still high on the original players.  So the drafts are failing to replenish the talent erosion of the older players.

It’s very 2018/2019.

We should have won this game by double digits. Not a joke. Legitimately.

Now everyone is going to panic. Just a brutal loss.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention how crappy the pass rush was.

Johnson wastes too many play calls, he's not putting Hurts in the best position. Our play designs regularly suck.

Yes Hurts sucks too, but the coaching is compounding it.

We were clearly the better team tonight. Crippling calls + Metcalf did us in.

Still, when you lose 3 in a row, you deserve to get criticized.

the biggest thing that did us in was not mentioned in your post. shocker.

Where did Goedert go??

This offense is terrible and Hurts isn't good enough to bail it out.  He's lost his confidence and he can't move like he wants to.

That combination has destroyed the offense

I’m convinced that if they don’t call plays for Goedert - Jalen just isn’t interested in getting him the ball.

Still wondering why the hell the players looked so happy coming off the field. I get that there were Philly fans there but you just blew the game after 2 straight blow outs. There's nothing to be laughing, smiling and high fiving about. Bunch of clowns with no accountability.

Problem 1 - The Eagles have financially committed to a QB who can't ready a defense post-snap. He can't. The football IQ isn't there.
Problem 2 - The Eagles have a coaching staff who think their QB is capable of reading a defense.

Only one of these problems is easily fixable. You have to get rid of BJ (and maybe Sirianni?) and get an offensive mind in here who knows how to scheme an offense for Hurts' extremely limited skillset.

The team already panicked when they fired a struggling DC for a proven clown at DC.

One good thing is the fumble drills worked at least 😂

It’s upsetting they made the playoffs because there is a 100% chance they lose by the second round

If they finish in the 5th seed they would play the NFC south winner I believe.

They won't beat Atlanta, TB or New Orleans whoever wins that crap division.

No, I’m actually not kidding.

You found ONE play from 2020?  Awesome.  Can you find one from 2021?  2022?  2023?

I thought Patricia called a logical, coherent game.

The offense looked great when they took their time with 10+ play drives.

That’s what is so goddamn maddening (to me, at least).

When they call a balanced drive, there’s success. But for some reason, on the next drive, they are calling deep shots to Watkins like he’s a Make-A-Wish kid living out a dream.

The methodical ten-play drives are this team's bread and butter. I have no idea why we can’t just stick with what works.

They are still getting a paycheck and making millions of dollars. Do you think any one of them care? Stop spending money and hitting them where it hurts and they might actually care.

This whole team is a joke right now.

The defense is one of the worst d‘s I’ve ever seen in an Eagles uniform. Can’t tackle and just atrocious all around. Seattle was like 4 for 5 on 3rd and 10…

Hurts MVP?! He is no where close to anyone in the conversation.

Hurts hasn’t been in the MVP conversation for about a month now. And even when he was, it was for about a 4-5 game stretch all season.

Not a chance. They are ending the season in a 7 game losing streak.
