Ok? Point remains. Whether it was Hurts or not, we’ve gotten lucky in a handful of games.

Luck appeared at the intersection of skill, and opportunity. So the point does not remain. Because the counter point is that there is no longer enough skill creating opportunity in these past 3 weeks. Your assertion is that this team was just lucky all along. My correction is that this team really WAS that damn good to play a C- game every week and still win. Now, they no longer are playing well enough. Its NOT a change in luck. Its been a noticeable change in our level of play.

Im here to tell you that the team performing as it did today, would never be in position to win on a lucky drop, or a lucky ref call if we were playing Miami again, or KC again, or Buffalo again. We wouldnt even be in those games.

Again- luck is not the difference. This team WAS not a pretender. They are now pretenders. Because they arent playing as well as they were.

Sydney Brown has shown enough to start. He's the only 2nd level player doing *anything*. That's why he's so noticeable. Get him around LBs who can do something please.

If I can criticize one player on the defense, apart from Bradberry, it's Sweat. Other than the first play of the game where he was unblocked for a TFL, he got shutout by Charles Cross. Non-factor as a rusher.

Bro, he has sucked so far. He is constantly missing tackles and was equally to blame for that big play to Metcalf as Bradberry. Dude flies around but has the football IQ and tackling skills of a pee wee kid.

He isn't playing well right now but he isn't even a top 5 concern for this team right now.

Drastic change needs to be made.

This is Howie’s team. That weasel runs the show

There are so many bigger problems than Sydney Brown. I would kill for more Browns on defense that wanted it as much as him.

I wouldn't... my lord.

Save some for BJ.

Nah. This is an easy win if Hurts played competently. I can’t blame Johnson for Hurts deciding to bail on clean pockets almost immediately or throwing a bunch of yolo passes. Hurts gets paid a lot of money to throw the football to the correct players.

Agreed, Brown was terrible tonight. I appreciate the kid's tenacity but his football IQ is horrendous and his tackling technique sucks. I'd be surprised if he is ever anything more than a backup and ST'er.

The Eagles really need to invest in better coaches. Look at what Al Harris is doing with the DB in Dallas. The Eagles have some pretty legit, yet raw talent in the secondary. Brown was bad, but I think a good position coach and a capable DC can get the most out of him. Ringo battled tonight but for some reason they decided to rotate him all game. He's probably the most talented player they have in the back 7 who just needs to learn more. Ricks is not a nickel, but he showed what we saw during the preseason, he makes great breaks on the ball if he's playing outside.

Brown, Ringo and Ricks could be a very nice group in a few years, but they need someone to coach them up and play to their strengths.

Secondary, LB's, OC, DC, so yeah MAYBE he is the 5th biggest concern for this team right now. Him or the DL not being able to get sacks anymore. Good discussion.

Dude is paid mega bucks to be our franchise QB and he's Fing crap up badly with boneheaded hero balls. This is on him.

Ringo is going to be a starter next year so might as well jump-start that process now. Just go with him and Slay.

Slay quit on the team, he can leave too. They need to get younger in the secondary and pretty much revamp the whole position.

I still assume Ringo is going to get them killed, but he was just so conspicuously absent from all the problems tonight.  On his worst play of the night, he did a nice job closing on Lockett and may have even been able to break up a better throw.  I’m not sure he gave up a single reception.

Next time, he’ll probably get 3 PIs and 3 TDs.  But with how terrible the secondary is, why not ride it out?  Just let him start until he forces his way out of the lineup.

Frankly, based on what we saw from Bradberry in crunch time, how could he be worse?  No reason to play Bradberry over Ringo.  At least Ringo has the chance to improve.  Bradberry is clearly on the downside.

It’s good to live in a fantasy land.

They will beat the NYG at home at the very least.

I know you hope they lose every game.

Doesn't matter because they aren't beating any playoff caliber teams which is what's important.

They can both have bad games. Hurts had the flu and Brian Johnson's first called play of the game was a designed run.

He is definitely part of the problem right now. Saying "this is on him" is small minded simple nonsense. Hurts didn't allow over 5 yards per carry to Walker. Hurts didn't give up 92 yards in barely over a minute to a backup QB. Hurts isn't calling plays like it's a high school offense. This team is a mess all over the place.

What group is that?   Large group here are certainly calling him out for his play.

Many in here were touting Hurts as MVP. Please...

Might be too tired but this post took too long to read and understand you’re talking in circles

That man needs to be reigned in from the hero ball and it's pretty clear Siri and Johnson aren't doing it. Too big play hungry when teams are playing to take that away.

.  He's had plenty of chances and almost all of them have ended in negative plays for the team.    An incompletion when targeting Watkins is a good outcome for this team compared to what a lot of the other things have turned into.    (Did you forget the Super Bowl where he got the ball thrown to him, in space and the ball just went through?)

I’m not saying he’s this awesome player or anything lol I’m just pointing out this weird offense that has Devonta and Oz trying to set up screens for AJ and Julio which I find weird. We’ve got so many pieces that seems we could find interesting ways to get the ball to but it only ever seems like we use Devonta and AJ with a rare Goedert sighting

Lurie should sell the team and go make some movies that no one will watch. Preach to us about social justice. Hollywood needs more of that.

Roseman I'm sure would get a cush financial job on Wall Street. Go rob a company blind and ruin hundreds of thousands of 401Ks.

The Eagles deserve better.

The fool's gold standard is stale.

Go jerk Bradley Cooper off in the janitors closet.

This team needs new ownership and direction.

Feel free to nitpick Brian Johnson while our quarterback absolutely sabotaged us.

Problem one with the offense is that we have a college level play caller at the helm.  This guy does not run a pro offense.

I think the RPO is figured out.  Defenses are getting Hurts to check out of run (or vice versa) based on pre snap reads and then changing it up.

Ideally, it seems like a play action bootleg offense would be best for Hurts and this offense.  If Hurts is under center, it gives the RB a head of steam hitting the holes and also allows rhe play action to set up protection.

Steichen knew how to design plays with spacing and had a good feel for playcalling.  Johnson...not so much

Two greatest Philly athletes of all time

We should have won this game by double digits. Not a joke. Legitimately.

Now everyone is going to panic. Just a brutal loss.

Smith, Brown, Swift, Goedert, Hurts, and this Oline should be putting up top numbers

Crazy how Cox and Graham have been the better players on Dline

They're both root problems but only one has a franchise QB contract anchor attached to their ankle. BJ needs to be gone yesterday.

I couldn't agree more. It just doesn't seem like players are being put in a position to have success on either side of the ball right now.
