their defense is just bad in general. They don’t have the personnel to be where people believe they should. They have more name value than actual performance value. They looked better tonight cause lock is not a good Qb and seattle has a lot of bonehead calls. You can say well last year they had a lot of personnel as last year.  2022 is not 2023. Guys regressed and replacements were downgrades.

Your personnel groups when you go look at all the positional groups are downgraded at every single one. To what level they have downgraded is a different story, but every single unit has downgraded. Plus you don’t have a very good defensive coordinator whether it’s Patricia or desai. You don’t lose Edwards, white, CJGJ, Epps, suh, Jospeh and hargrave and think there’s not gonna be a drop off cause you got jalen Carter, bunch of street FA at LB, unproven Lb in Dean, a slow safety in byard, a rookie 3rd round S, edmunds/Evans who had no business being in the roles we asked them too. And replacing suh and Joseph with just Williams and tui.

They are too bunkered down with their philosophies, that I think are generally smart, but they go overboard with them.

I think the team can go a year without investing premium picks on linemen. Maybe one of the seconds on DE if one falls our way, and then the right free agents to plug holes for another year.

I'm with you, team needs serious investment in LB, S and CB. Not addressing those needs with sincerity should cause riots.

I didn’t think it could ever get worse than the Joe Webb game and tonight we got a 92 yard game-winner by Drew Lock in less than 90 seconds. That takes the cake.

It’s why i said Patricia isn’t some savior. The biggest issue the eagles have on defense is their personnel isn’t good. They got names but they aren’t playing to that name level. And they downgraded across the board with two DCs that shown they aren’t very good. Reason why Patricia in the last 5 years he was in charge of the defense/HC had dvoa’s of 16, 32, 31, 24 and 28. I don’t care that they fired desai. More that their personnel is by FAR their biggest problem on defense. It’s not getting fixed til the offseason.
