One of the best Great feeling come backs in the long time. Time to start to run the ball, as a game strategy..and win every game in the most boring way possible..without comeback after comeback, after comeback.

Overall, they're being out-played.  Dallas outplayed us, KC outplayed us, Buffalo outplayed us.

Obviously.  But come on, man, you can't tell me that these last 3 games the Eagles weren't outplayed over the course of 60 minutes overall.  I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just trying to be reasonably objective.  If we keep playing the same brand of 60 minute football like we have been, it's just a matter of time before the scoreboard DOES say different.

Hurts knows it, that's why he always seems dissatisfied after each win this year.  He knows they are playing poorly for too-long of stretches.  It would simply be a miracle if the Eagles continue to win games in the manner they have all the way to the Super Bowl.  Now, if they can get their crap together and play a full 60 minutes, the sky is the limit.  It just hasn't happened this year...not even once.

Ugly wins are wins nevertheless!

They weren't outplayed over 60minutes overall otherwise they would be losing games. They are the best 2nd half team in the NFL. They figure things out in the 2nd half. Just wish they could start games stronger.

Incoming suspension and fine. Mind you this is the same guy that blew up Jurgens on the early shove.

Phillips has 9 seasons under his belt, to watch a veteran unravel like this you know the team is cooked.

Man, I thought about this, but it would probably be pretty awkward since Siri used to report to Reich when they were at Indy.

Yeah, I hear ya. Thing is, Reich has been humbled 2 times now (let go during the season by 2 teams now) and may be ready for it. He was a killer OC. Still would be.

No. They weren’t outplayed. They didn’t play as well as the can and should but that doesn’t mean they were outplayed.

Could see him in a consultant type role

For the Defense, gotta clean up the run Defense bit and the 3rd down conversions. Bills ran like a billion plays.

Offense needs more consistency, improved play calling, and stop it with the TOs!!

I totally see where you're coming from. Your opinion has merit, and some truth to it. I think it's more accurate to say that were were outplayed *at times* in each of those games, last night included. We'd all like to see things cleaned up. You'r right that we can't be so sloppy with such regularity and expect these results to continue to go in our favour in perpetuity. Football, though, is a game made up of moments. Each moment has different levels and layers of meaning. Some of those moments are naturally more important, more meaningful, than others. It's in those moments where the Eagles have consistently outperformed their opponents.

Furthermore, if I may, it's not like we've been playing Carolina, Arizona and NYG the last three weeks. Our three most recent opponents all have (much as it pains me to say, in the case of that divisional rival I shall not name) legitimate shots at going to the big show this year. All had winning records when we played them. They aren't bums. We didn't play very well in the first half of any of those games, and yet we still won. Each time, we found a way to win. You can't fluke three games in a row in the NFL, least of all against three genuine contenders.

So, yes. We need to clean things up, and we need to improve. But we are improving from a high base, and tht's a great position to be in.

I like what you have to say...not a bad way of looking at it, really.  I'm highlighting the last 3 weeks, but in reality the Eagles have played like this all season.  In almost every game (if not every game), they have played poorly for stretches of the game.  And, it's been the same flaws...offensive play-calling/execution that makes it look like they have no plan, turnovers, and defensively allowing opponents to go up and down the field at will.

Their collective "finding ways to win" have included timely plays by the defense (namely, a big sack at the right time), big plays/drives by the offense but also some luck in opposing receivers dropping balls or miscommunicating on a play, and penalties (called and non-called).   The last 3 games could have gone the other way, easily.

Let's just take the last 3 games....if the Eagles played as they did, BUT, Dallas converts for the TD when they had 1st down at the Eagles' 6 yard line, MVS catches that pass, and Josh Allen/Gabe Davis are in sync in OT.  3 plays, 3 different games...if the Eagles dropped all 3 games, people here would be head-hunting.  The W's are just masking a lot of underlying stink the Eagles have been giving off.

One thing is for sure, I've never seen a season quite like this one that the Eagles are having.  It's insane!

There's some important observations in there and they tell us a lot...

  • All three phases have stepped up in important moments. We aren't one dimensional, we can win in lots of different ways
  • The games all could have gone differently, but the opposition failed to make this reality. Are we lucky that the Chiefs WR (whose name I don't know well enough to trust myself to type properly) doesn't make that killer catch? Or was he a component that broke down, rendering their performance inadequate, collectively, to win?
  • Teams have had their opportuniies to win the last few weeks. Did they fail? Were they not good enough? Or did the Eagles overcome adversity and cause some of that inadequacy?

We can choose to look at these things in different ways. Fundamentally, though, I think we both believe the same thing, and that is if the Eagles want to win it all this season, they must improve. There are good teams in this league, there aren't seven game series that allow for quality to show itself over time. It's a one shot deal, and if you keep giving the other side bullets, they will hit you eventually.

There's a difference in being outplayed in a half vs an entire game.  I don't think the Chiefs or Bills outplayed the Eagles for an entire game. Both teams definitely had our number in the 1st half, but were unable to keep the lead or stop the Eagles in the 2nd half. The only thing I'm really concerned about is the defense. They've definitely gotten lucky, and Desai needs to clean up some stuff as drops won't keep happening unless someone on the staff sold their soul to the devil, lol.

Imagine what the score would look like if the Eagles played a near perfect game for 4 quarters. I firmly believe they will put it all together for the title run. I hope it begins this week against the Forty-Whiners.

I think we all need to accept that isn’t going to happen. And that’s not me saying it should happen or it shouldn’t. They aren’t going to fire BJ regardless.
