Sirianni is becoming pretty dang good at understanding the importance and flow of the game. The fake punt early on was a clear indicator he knew how the game was going to progress and how to keep the Eagles in a position to win. They needed a touchdown on that drive but good call by him to extend that drive.

Can't remember the last time we tried a fake punt. Loved the call, and was very impressed by the execution from Mann - he held his kicking form until the very last moment. A real thing of beauty.

I'm a tad more on the optimistic side for the next 4 games...especially if we get Drew Lock next monday night.  If we get Geno, my confidence will be at the 50/50 level.  Against Lock, more like 60/40.  I think our offense will wake up so either way the game should be competitive.

The last 4 teams we play are the same types of teams we've beaten this year...ones that make mistakes and have flaws, just like us.

As for the playoffs, our best bet is probably really getting the #2 seed.  We'd play someone like Green Bay or Minnesota, then Detroit...then go on the road against San Fran.  Chances are the 3 seed and 5 seed will win their games making the 5 seed the lowest remaining and therefore that team will go to San Fran in the divisional round.

It's important not to overreact. If someone told you last August that in the middle of December, the Eagles would be 10-3, the only losses to two of the best teams in the NFL and a fluky but predictable clunker to the Jets, you would have taken that in a heartbeat.

The Eagles were 14-3 last year.
They'll be favored in every game they play going forward.

Another 14-3 or 13-4 record would be just fine. Dallas has a tough schedule. The Eagles remain relatively healthy.  They'll be okay.

This place is in TATERGEDDON this week.

NY is bad... real bad.

Yeah there are but they’ve won games this year. They aren’t as bad as the Panthers.

They have a 50/50 chance of beating Seattle.  But there's only a 10% chance of that.

We won’t win out and that’s not even with a negative hat on. This weeks game is a tough one on the road across country when this team already looks tired and lethargic. Seattle are also a decent team. And even if we win that we have 2 divisional games against NY of which we will absolutely drop one of them as that’s just how divisional games go.

Na, we’ll beat the Giants. We always beat the Giants. I’m more worried about Seattle and sadly enough, Arizona.

I think we’ve won 17 out of the last 20 games against the Giants.

How does it work if the Eagles lose one game and the Cowboys lose one game?

The Eagles do not have a difficult game left on the schedule. They lost to the Jets,  but they have 10 wins.  The Cowboys have difficult games against the Bills, Dolphins, Lions.   If the Eagles go 4-0, and the Cowboys go 4-0,  the Eagles win the NFCE.   I guess if the tiebreaker is conference record,  if both lost 1 game,  the Cowboys would prefer their loss to be to the Bills or Dolphins.  The Eagles only have NFC teams on their schedule.

They do still control their destiny and if they win next week then they start to repair some of this damage. But man right now this team looks dejected and broken. And I’m not sure that’s going to come in a week.

the wrs who never come off the field look tired, probably because they never come off the field.  And because they're so tired,  they're making mistakes.

The Eagles have (I think) clinched at least a wild card spot,  so they're going to the playoffs.  The Eagles have a better chance to win a lot of playoff games if their star wrs aren't collapsing from overwork,  even if they want the snaps to get the catches to get the all pro status.   It should also be beneficial if the Eagles could put some other wrs on the field,  and get them catches,  during the regular season,  so that they could possibly do that in the playoffs.

This whole season, the offense has been limited and boring. It has been effective.   "Only throw to Brown and Smith and Goedert,  they're stars"  has worked. The Eagles are 10-3.  But the downside of never taking the stars off the field is that they get tired and worn down.   You need them to be 100% when the games matter,  and they're not now,  but rest now could help.

the Eagles don't really have a full offense.  The parts they have and use are definitely good.  10-3.  But the Quez spot is a mystery,  23 passes to Brown + Smith.  1 pass to WR3.

Maybe, in the playoffs,  the Eagles will roll out the innovations which will get them wins over teams that, right now,  look better than the Eagles.

No, we haven't.  The only team to have clinched a playoff spot is SF.

If being the key word. With the way the defense has played all season, that's a tall task. If we're being realistic, they'll probably lose one to two more games.  IF the defense can play better against the inferior comp we have left, then they definitely could/should win out.  Of course, none of this even matters unless they show up on both sides of the ball in the playoffs. What's the point of even miraculously getting the 1 or 2 seed, just to stink it up in the postseason?

Playing the top teams back to back to back to back to back to back will do that to a team.

Cowboys lost.

Eagles dramatically changed Defensive Coordinator, we'll see if it helps.

Narratives and momentum shift from week to week.

What’s the situation now with playoffs? If Eagles lose to Seahawks and both them and Cowboys win out, do we have tiebreaker still?

Apparently, results from yesterday mean we are confirmed in the playoffs - 49ers win + Packers loss + Falcons loss were enough to see us through. Qualifying with four games to spare isn´t bad, considering some peeps have been writing us off the last two weeks

I’ve answered my own question. We would get through on common opponents record.

Bad coaching. Terrible schemes. Under performing players. Ageing veterans who are diminishing. Incomplete roster. Still zero impact LB'ers. On and on...there's a lot wrong here that will prevent winning it all.
