My wife and I both friended our realtor.  We bought our house 7 years ago.  I don't know why I accepted his friend request.  I had to unfollow him because of political stuff in the 2016 election.  He was regurgitating all the Rush and Fox talking points, Obama is a Muslim, Trump is God, Democrats are evil, etc.  I at first unfollowed but would go to his page and a couple other like him to see what crazy they were posting and get some material.  Then this election I started getting forwards from him on Facebook messenger.  I wrote back and said I don't want this crap why are you sending it to me.  One was some weird conspiracy about Obama.  I unfriended and blocked him because he kept forwarding stuff.

He wasn't even that good of a realtor.

It always baffles me that people in a line of work that depends on cultivating client relationships would intentionally alienate half their potential customers.

I guess if they think the other side is the devil, then they don't want those kind of customers anyway.  🤷‍♂️

same with the unfollow. i usually go that route rather than unfriending.  i'm not really surprised to see that some of the folks i went to hs and/or grew up with are dem hating trumpers. it's the area we grew up in. but a few of my former co-workers really shocked me. a couple really really nice people i worked with for 12 years & never said 1 word about politics...all of a sudden posting nothing but the most hateful garbage on their fb pages...not family pics, jokes, or anything fb was originally intended for...just 1 radical, hateful post after another. surely there's more in their lives than that.

We have a neighbor who seems like a cool guy, our kids play together.  He's Mexican, from California originally, laid back surfer type.  I would never have expected him to be a Trumpbot.  He didn't even express it until this recent campaign.  Put a big Trump sign in his yard.  He didn't say the election was stolen per se, he just kept posting that they need to investigate potential fraud.  His brother tags him in political posts all the time so I end up seeing them, he's a Democrat that posts Lincoln Project stuff or facts to dispute Trumps claims and stuff and they argue in the comments back and forth.  I'm like why don't you just private message this stuff it's jus the 2 of your arguing. I had to unfollow him too just too much political.

The political stuff on FB has got to be the most annoying thing in the world. Just post pics of your kids and cats. Damn.

A few years ago I met a cousin and his wife I never knew existed at a family cookout my sister was having. Apparently they knew me when I was really young but I didn't remember them at all. I still had FB at the time so he and his wife friended me on there. I ended up having to unfollow them after a month or so because of all the batish Trump stuff all over my timeline. I did want to connect and get to know them but it was a little crazy.

I know a woman who has totally bought into the Pelosi/Clinton/Soros is hiding child slaves in the basement of the Capitol, or wherever they are, conspiracy. The thing is she's a very nice lady, you wouldn't even know by meeting her. She has a full-time job, a nice family... We are about the same age, our kids are the same age in similar activities, so we see each other a lot. Then I go home, get her social media updates and it's bonkers. I confronted her about it, but she doesn't even care if she's wrong. Her position is: How do you really know for sure? What if it is true? Don't you care about the children? She'd rather be wrong than not care.

Facebook went downhill when they let the old people on. All they share about is the news they watch on TV.

Plus telling us when they were kids they didn't have phones/computers and actually played outside. Too bad the generation before them isn't on FB to say "When we were your age we spent more time with our grandchildren and outside instead of being on FB all day"

I read it as her to no longer be the speaker, not to die.
