Yeah, interpreting historical events and hashing out what happened several months or years ago (again) are two different things in my mind. That cancel culture video has little relevance after we were launched into the Trump era. IMHO I think you'd enjoy this Vox article though https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/22278065/donald-trump-conservative-politics-charles-kesler

Rejecting something out of hand because it is "old news" or from "2014" doesn't sound like an argument anyone should make least of which a historian.

You pretending to know anything about my profession is not surprising given your "expertise” on other topics.

What exactly do you do? btw -- That is a good article to read (halfway thru) so thanks. I completely reject Charles' assertion that Trump carried some value. Trump literally carried near zero value, certainly HUGE net negative value in any case. The other stuff regarding the state of the country, the role of progressive, etc. though is pretty good (so far).

I have no clue what I’m doing like 95% of the time, but I don’t read something by Braudel or E.P. Thompson and think, "we really need to get back to that.” That’s not how academia works.

March 25, 20214 yr Trump's new social network is probably his greatest con yet. I'm just wondering if he will charge one fee to use, or if he will try suckering the MAGA's into monthly payments.
March 25, 20214 yr SWA pilot over SF.
