July 21, 20214 yr I don't care what the mayor might have said or didn't say behind closed doors. You can't use that language in a public meeting. How does somebody like that even get elected in the 2020's?... Oh, it's in Alabama.

One of the more annoying parts of this whole ordeal is "freedom fighters" like him forcing customer service people who earn near-minimum wage to act like high school principals. Big difference between a closed door meeting and a public forum. There are better ways to correct the mayor's vocabulary than shouting slurs at a colleague in a public meeting. Councilman ought to know better.

Because I feel it's not a matter of you can't say the n-word, anytime, anyplace. It's because of the place and manner in which the councilman said it. The mayor is a whole different situation. It's he said, he said. If the councilman has a problem with how the mayor conducts his business, then he could have taken it to the mayor privately. You have to drag others down with you because you got in trouble publicly.

Tarrant’s first Black mayor today denied that he used the racial epithet "house N-----” to describe a Black city council member, after a white city council member used the phrase and tried to dismiss criticism by saying he was just repeating after the mayor. Tarrant Mayor Wayman Newton today denied allegations that he used the racially derogatory term, referring to a house servant during slavery, to describe a Black council member who opposes him. July 22, 20214 yr Exactly right Candace! Life-saving medicine should cost the same as COVID vaccination! Or at least health insurance should do what we pay them to do, and cover its cost. I can’t believe she got that right… oh, nm. I spoke too soon. We can’t have anything good. That wouldn’t be conservative enough.
July 22, 20214 yr For a second it almost sounded like she cared that people couldn't afford life-saving medicine, so I'm glad she clarified.
July 22, 20214 yr So basically some local officials "audited" (tampered with) voting machines, rendering them unusable for future elections. All because the right can't accept losing.
