Focusing on making more is a lot easier when you have a base to build off of.  Making a habit of living below your means helps to get you there.  Living out of a storage locker for 5 years in my early days did wonders to help me establish my future.  Of course only having a cell phone bill and a $50 rental as my expenses is taking it to the extreme, but you get the point.  

 

Don't go out to eat, make your own damn coffee, etc all adds up to give you additional $$ to invest.  There is no such thing as disposable income.

Haha no no we don't do good cuisine but we can comment because we are very very multi cultural in the UK. And with our cuisine being so bad we can be unbiased.

I will say this -- best Indian food I've had outside Mom's kitchen was been in London.

I mean not hype but there's a lot of them. I had my first at O'Hare on Monday and it was awful. 

the chili's in my area closed down because upscale restaurants don't do well around here.

We have many many cultures here...

I am still not over my first year in England, and we go out for lunch at a local spot.

They have pizza on the menu. I was ten. I was excited to see things that were not bubble and squeak, or bangers. I ordered pizza.

I received a large stoneware bowl in which bread had been baked. There were stewed tomatoes on top.

There was no cheese.

It’s great to drink at in high school. Lots of mid to late 90’s hype.

 Also, Allen Iverson used to go to the one on city line a lot. Might be why he went broke now that you mention it…

I cannot remember the last time I was at Chili's.

The wife made us go to an olive garden recently, mainly because the kids complain less there than at proper restaurants.

I like the bread sticks fine but no beer selection, and still need a shower after.

In America they call shops "stores”. You don’t store things there you buy things.  It’s a shop.

My kid's school did a fundraiser at Chili's. It was awful. The taco truck down the street kills it.

A large percentage of them sure do seem like a hateful bunch so it makes sense.
