July 30Jul 30 I don't think about retiring so y'all can have my SS money. If I make it to 67 1/2 in 3 1/2 years I will take my share of course. Beyond that, working gives me purpose. At some point I'd like to do 4 days a week if I can still get benefits. My employer pays for both short- and long-term disability. Hope I never need it but nice to know it's there if needed. I also have a life insurance benefit plus I bought another small policy when Mr. Di died so I don't burden my kids with burying me. I have things pretty much set up with what to do and they will end up with a little cash after I'm in the ground. Until then, I just keep going every day,

My dad worked hard and lived his entire life with minimal expenses so that he’d be able to enjoy retirement. He retired and Age 62: after working as a contractor and in factories his whole life debt free (tried to retire several times earlier but the company kept giving him reduced hours and free health insurance so he stayed on), and got cancer and was gone within a couple of years. Hardly got to enjoy the retirement that he spent his entire life setting himself up for. Nah, I’ll enjoy my life now while I know that I have it thanks. Tomorrow isn’t promised or guaranteed so I’m not going to bank on it being there.

(And given my genetics, likely) I leave behind security for schmoopie and Ellie.
