She's up there with Tom Hanks in the "they're just good people" group of celebrities, though I think Dolly's level of giving back to the community is in a world of its own. i didnt make it to dollywood, but spent a week in gatlinsburg and made it over to pigeon forge a couple of times. beautiful area. i could live there.

We only did a day in Dollywood but spent the week in Pigeon Forge. Really nice and great for kids. We did a civil war dinner thing where the north and south faced off in horse races and stuff. I kept telling my wife "they know they lost right?"

The problem is the entitlement that has been built up around it - especially by the boomers. Like it's an inherent, immovable condition that cannot be diminished. Being exceptional is something we once were (comparatively), and we're still comparatively "pretty good" in a lot of ways, but we lost being exceptional through hubris and lack of commitment to the American ideals we claim to cherish.
August 21, 20205 yr This is what's now being passed around by Trumpbots on Facebook. I can only assume this is in response to the DNC and Biden in particular getting some "positive" coverage. Muh safe space!

The denial by too many to accept Trumpsky’s balls slapping their chin to sock it to the Libtards even at their own expense. Besides, they are riding the coattails of the greatest generation and they’ll be dead by the time the $hit is really hitting the fan. The antithesis of, ask what you can do for your country, wi’il babies 😭
