These people are pretty much abandoning all morality at this point. Trump is still playing 4D chess and that’s why he turned the country into a hellscape in an election year.

You seem to fall for this often. Here is the passage from the book....which I obtained from your link. These quotes aren't even in the same paragraph "Meanwhile, it also took two months for me to realize the enormity of what my father had accomplished, and the weight of the job that he’d won. It was the day before the inauguration, and we were driving into Arlington National Cemetery, where he was to lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I rarely get emotional, if ever. I guess you’d call me hyper-rational, stoic. Yet, as we drove past the rows of white grave markers, in the gravity of the moment, I had a deep sense of the importance of the presidency and a love of our country. I was never prouder of my father than when I watched as he stood before the tomb, his hand over his heart, while the Army bugler played 'Taps.' "In that moment, I also thought of all the attacks we’d already suffered as a family, and about all the sacrifices we’d have to make to help my father succeed—voluntarily giving up a huge chunk of our business and all international deals to avoid the appearance that we were 'profiting off the office.'"
September 6, 20205 yr While my left brain is struggling to find the right word ("Even unedited its still (Self important, tasteless, uncouth, classless)") ... .... I am shocked that someone with "Never Trump" in their twitter description would manipulate a Trump quote. Edit: Tasteless. The entire quote was tasteless.
September 6, 20205 yr Donald Trump Jr is proof that an expensive private school education doesn’t guarantee anything.

Huh? He drove past the grave markers in Arlington and immediately thought of the financial sacrifices of himself and his family. Whether that was described in one paragraph or two is... irrelevant? The point of the excerpt is sane people don't drive by Arlington Cemetery and think of themselves and their family business sacrifices.

He was commenting about the importance of the presidency and what their family would be giving up in order to take these roles on. The Trump family says plenty of detestable things that you can post in here, this is not one of them.

But I feel like I'm standing on pretty solid ground when I make the assumption that most people don't.

I think the point that he was trying to make was that the family was making major sacrifices and subjecting themselves to enormous public scrutiny. Those sacrifices were made out of a love of country and patriotism. A bit different than the ever running narrative in here about how the Trump family is profiting from the office of the presidency.

I understand the point he was making. I really do. You don't need to keep trying to explain it. The point everyone else is making is that most people don't make an Arlington Cemetery visit about themselves and their bank accounts. Like, I get that people think about personal finances. I do it all the time. What I'm saying is that most people aren't reminded of their bank accounts when they visit the graves of dead soldiers. For sane people I believe there's a singular focus around those that died and the ultimate sacrifice they made. At least there is for me. Again, I totally appreciate the fact that that is probably not the case for you.

Everyone knows it, even Trump, who’s preemptively trashed him and of course called Kelly, a decorated vet himself, a loser and a sucker. How many times does this POS have to make fools of his supporters before you guys stop desperately spinning for him?
