October 8, 20205 yr Quote 6 people charged in plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer DETROIT (AP) -- Six people plotted to try to kidnap Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer at her vacation home, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Thursday in federal court. Four of the six men had planned to meet Wednesday to "make a payment on explosives and exchange tactical gear," the FBI said in the court filing. The FBI quoted one of the accused as saying Whitmer "has no checks and balances at all. She has uncontrolled power right now. All good things must come to an end." Authorities scheduled a Thursday afternoon news conference to talk about the case. The criminal complaint states that the alleged plot involved Whitmer and her second home in northern Michigan. Whitmer has been praised but also deeply criticized for the state's response to the coronavirus. She put major restrictions on personal movement throughout the state and on the economy, although many of those limits have been lifted.https://6abc.com/politics/6-people-charged-in-plot-to-kidnap-michigan-gov-whitmer/6867073/?fbclid=IwAR2sc6Xzj24KHI2mHcMOvKmEdx5ms6QLaTf4TfBCGQ6ExAXu0feYLh6hkBU

I wouldn't have qualified Trump supporters 4 years ago as that group. Four years ago he had a plurality of Independent support. They have since abandoned him. All that's left of Trump base now is, as you described, people who probably would support kidnapping and murdering Democrats.

October 8, 20205 yr Quote Ex-RNC, Trump fundraiser Elliott Broidy charged in covert lobbying scheme Court documents unsealed Thursday allege that Broidy conspired with others to unsuccessfully lobby the Department of Justice (DOJ) to drop a probe into the $4.5 billion embezzlement scandal involving Malaysia's state-owned investment fund, 1MDB. Broidy served as RNC deputy finance chairman between 2017 and 2018, stepping down following reports that he allegedly paid off a Playboy Playmate who claimed he had impregnated her. He was a major fundraiser for President Trump's 2016 campaign and inauguration. In 2017, he donated to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.). He also gave to Rep. Lets not fall into the trap of sniffing our own a**'s... awful people on both sides. Both sides.
October 8, 20205 yr there are indeed awful people on both sides. but a lone-wolf attack by a desperate man whose life is unraveling is different from a coordinated effort by a well-stocked militia. Hodgkinson (shooter at the congressional baseball game where Scalise was shot) is more comparable to Cesar Soyuc, the Trump-supporting pipe bomb sender. they're both bad, but I tend to think in pretty different ways. if you want to compare this militia to something, look at the NFAC (not ef'ing around coalition) or even Antifa. a main difference here being one side of the aisle has a president signalling to these militia groups. the other side has a candidate that has firmly, consistently, and without hesitation denounced it.
