Don't really know him, aside from waving hello to him if I'm passing by and we make eye contact. Somebody put a passive-aggressive note on his car to the effect of "I noticed someone defaced your vehicle and put a Trump sticker on it. Just wanted to let you know so your neighbors didn't think you were a hateful person" Pretty petty and stupid for sure. In no way should that sort of note-leaving be endorsed. So someone decides to send out an email about the "harassment" to the entire neighborhood (probably a couple hundred people) and oh my the pearl clutching over this. Apparently "the police are investigating" this egregious act of trespassing and vandalism. I get it. It's a petty, stupid thing for someone to do. People should not feel like they can't express their political views should they choose to. But holy hell I feel like the neighborhood reaction was over the top. Am I the ish-hole here? I have a Biden sign out front. If I got some petty note on my vehicle because of the Biden sign I would just laugh. I might even scan it, blow it up, laminate it, and stick it right out there next to a "listen here Jack" Biden sign if I was feeling particularly strong about it. But calling the police? Having all the (older) neighborhood women clutch their pearls? Because what looks to be some young girl (basing this solely on the handwriting) left a stupid note? I'm sorry, but it's not the libs who are triggered. How’d they get everyone’s email? What kind of creepy arse place do you live?

We became pretty popular in the neighborhood after that. Any chance your friend's name is Albert?

Columbus was a piece of crap who was once sent home in chains by his own colonists due to his brutal treatment of native populations. including this in teachings isn't revisionist history, it's a correction of revisionist history.

It's amazing how quickly Columbus went from being a revered historical figure in our country to causing libs to have emotional breakdowns at his mention. Very cool.

Very cool. That's what happens when you heap praise on a figure undeserving of it. It's a correction of the historical record. Is he an important historical figure that needs to be part of any curriculum? Absolutely. Should we also make sure we don't white-wash history, and present a full accounting of their contributions - both good and bad? Yes, if the goal is to actually educate people in a way where we can learn from history If the goal is merely to indoctrinate and present a fairy-tale view of history, sure go ahead and deify the guy.

Quote NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim October 12, 2020, as Columbus Day. I call upon the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities. He proclaimed that Columbus Day is Columbus Day. 🤡🌎

Speaking to local radio station WPLN News, Shelbyville resident Breana Green said she noticed the disturbance outside her neighbour’s home, who supports the Democratic presidential nominee. According to Ms Green, a yard sign in support of Mr Biden was tampered with, whilst the yard outside her neighbour’s home had been littered with businesses cards that carried the Ku Klux Klan name. The cards carried a statement threatening a second visit, and read: "You have been paid a social visit by the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Don’t make the next visit a business call.”
