Maybe he’s the one calling the play. 

If Jim Johnson, Bud Carson, or even Buddy Ryan were alive today, they probably would be unable to straighten out this D completely. This D is aging veterans playing way too much. A couple good players who can’t be everywhere all the time. A few talented, young, but raw players who haven’t been coached up and/or have worked themselves into an NFL body. And a bunch of patchwork scrubs who have no business being in the NFL. 
It’s much more likely that no coordinator could work with what we got.

Next year 5-12?

Right now the Eagles are the 5 seed I guess according to nfl.com. So that means they’ll lose to the Bucs. If they do happen to get the 2 seed they’ll lose to the Seahawks, Saints, or Rams. If they get the 3 seed it’ll be the same teams. So all in all it’s the same result with an L and ending the season early.

Thats coaching. Another example of why Sirianni needs to go.

This team was off all year long.  We all saw how they never really played a complete game all year.   This has to fall on the head coach.  His inability to adjust and hold people accountable has created a lack of accountability culture.  I don't see any hustling on this team.   There is no passion and fire on both offense and defense.

 

This team had no identity on offense, and this thing, we call defense has been virtually non-existent for a good portion of the year.       

We are stuck in no man's land. Can't draft good people and stuck with bad coaching. Kelce is going to retire. What a disaster.

I think the 2nd half for them was  TD TD TD TD. Just unbelievable that this D could be so bad.

It isn’t just the players though which is what I was suggesting. They need to get rid of a lot of these coaches.

Don’t really know honestly because he was falling as he was trying to catch it. The ball wasn’t placed well and it forced Smith to adjust to it. If Jalen throws a perfect strike then he catches it in stride. Nevertheless why throw that pass on third down anyway? Just do something short to move the chains. That’s poor football awareness to take a deep shot there.

Gotta figure that Siri gets next year to get the coordinators right (on the second try) and straighten out Hurts as well.  But we probably need some good drafting to restock the cupboard a bit.  Some of these guys don't look up to snuff and some guys are older.  

To me, this is a microcosm of the Eagles' entire 2023 season. A really good player making a great play, but then not quite finishing. 

No reason to break the O up. Just get a better play caller. Defense is a dumpster fire.

Players are smart enough to know that Desai wasn't the primary issue and it was a low-effort move on Sirianni's part 

Nick didn't want to demote Johnson, because he ultimately knew that playcalling would fall on him 

Who actually hired Desai? I feel like that was kind of a scramble move, because they thought Gannon was coming back. But seriously who hired him? Was it Sirianni or was it Howie?

I agree with this.  It’s a huge letdown.  Turns out all that get better every day / growth mindset stuff is all talk.  They have had the same issues and kept doing the same things ALL season.  I think the players see it now too and that’s the core infection at this point. If he stays at all he needs to own it completely and clean house on his coaching staff with massive experienced hires at OC and DC and turn it over to them.
