I think Mitchell has the ability to be a top 3 CB in the league.  He seems to have the character to reach his potential too

My only reservation is his level of competition so I'm curious to see how consistently he can perform against NFL WRs every week.

AJ Brown is 26. Reddick is 29. It's not the same situation at all.

That's actually not a rebuttal to his point. If anything, it affirms the point. If they wanted to re-sign Reddick, they'd have done so last year. As we see with the Eagles time and time again, they keep guys they really want to keep. And age could very well be part of their reasoning not to with Reddick.

That doesn’t bother me at all actually.  The NFL has a lot of good corners that did not come from powerhouse schools

Didn't he strip naked and try to jump out of a hotel window or something?

I think he also tried to sell of some of the team's equipment while he was drunk!

I think that’s part of it. I had to think the other part of it is Castellanos being in front of him and Rojas struggled for the first two weeks and was being behind him. teams aren’t going to let him beat them until Castellanos gets going and Rojas continues to hit like he has lately. Last year he had Bohm/marsh/realmuto (Jt just sucked with RISP last year. Was actually good with no one on base) a good portion of the season in front and behind. If Castellanos can just be a decent hitter and Rojas keeps blossoming i think he’ll begin to also see better pitches.

There is something to that, but right now, Stott's approach isn't quite the same as it was last year.  He's pressing far more and not taking what's there when it presents itself.   He just needs to get back to that mentality of fighting each at bat to make contact, and when he starts doing that more, he'll get back into a groove.

Rojas is coming all nicely since he's made the transition from trying to hit for power, to just getting good solid contact on the ball.  Stott isn't nearly as fast as Rojas, but he's stronger.   Good solid contact for him will be in the gaps, and some of them will turn into home runs naturally.   I would like to see him moved ahead of Castellanos in the order though.

Schwarber
Turner
Harper
Bohm
Marsh
Realmuto
Stott
Castellanos
Rojas

That would be my order.  If Stott turns it around, he can go back to 5 again and Marsh can move to 7...  or leave it as it is.     Oh, and while we are at it... can they PLEASE find a real backup catcher.  Stubbs is just awful.

Nothing to be 'bothered' by, but he will see things against much improved competition in the NFL, and he's going to have to improve his technique to match the rise in the talent opposite him.  He won't be able to get by so much on pure athleticism.   That said, I think he absolutely has the right mentality to want to get better and to improve his craft.   He seems like an intense guy, and that's great on the outside.   Lock in on your assignment and don't get distracted by ancillary things.

Reddick also wanted a raise from his current deal. AJ didn't get a raise, he got an extension (ie, team friendly deal).

Well AJ's extension made him the highest paid WR in the NFL. But for Zach's point I don't think circumstance matters. He's saying that when the Eagles highly value a player, they keep them. If money and age factored into them not giving Reddick a new deal, then they obviously didn't value him enough for it not be a deterrent.

Imagine the Eagles or Phillies having to buy their own playoff tickets.

definitely pressing and chasing. I tend to trust him to get himself going.

I think at the deadline they are gonna need a BP arm. Maybe two. Dominguez is just awful right now. He hasn’t been what he was since 2022 even last year. And Soto isn’t much better. I’d send Dominguez to the minors but he has no options left and over 5 years in mlb so he can refuse if you ask. Basically gonna have to convince him to pull a Brett Myers or use a "injury” to do it.

Frankly if they get to the deadline and Castellanos is still like he has been in April, they should consider getting a bat that can platoon with him. I’m hoping he pulls out of it but i really don’t trust him to do it.

I think it was more a scheme issue than anything. Sweat is on his way out as well, and they have brought in Baun, Huff and Hunt. It's clear they want edges who can drop into coverage.

This should be a common practice. Supply and demand, the prices are gonna be astronomical, I get it, but letting regular people add to the playoff atmosphere is good for the game. We don't need more rich twats scrolling on their phones all game.

It certainly helps that he gets to practice every day against a route running master like Smith and a physical monster like Brown. That should help to rapidly improve his technique. Nothing he sees in game should be much of a shock after a training camp against those two.

Also not talked about enough is just how good Alec Bohm has become in three years. He might be the best third baseman the Phillies have had (with how he’s playing right now) since Scott Rolen. it might even be before that and Mike Schmidt. That’s how good he’s been this year. He’s on pace for 156 RBI and he’s hitting over 360. Plus his defense has gotten much better over the last 3 years.

Love watching this kid. Improves by leaps and bounds each year.

I just can't take either Campbell or Parker serious enough to not upgrade if there's a chance. 2022 versions of either DeVonte Parker or Parris Campbell would be terrific, and I really hope that's the players they are getting. Maybe I'm not giving Parker enough credit and focusing on his age too much.

Devante Parker had one good year when fidget spinners were still trendy. He is by far the player I want most to NOT make this team. He has the worst separation since Apartheid.

I like this order. And crazy to think at one point that Stubbs was one of the top college catchers.

I'm guessing that these are tickets that had been allocated to the open market and not made available directly to Sixer fans.

This practice led to all Knick fans on Sunday.  It was a bad look and the FO moved in a different direction.

Wouldn't hate it, but I would just want someone a little younger. Kerrigan and Quinn burned too much.

I think Campbell is a bit different.  He could be like Suh.

The new wordmark actually doesn’t look bad on this jersey. I thought it would but it really doesn’t

I don't want to keep being so negative but everything about the Nike template and the chest wordmark just makes the numbers sit too low. He's holding up a nice looking tank top though!

Wonder which draft pick that could be

And he's played in multiple different defensive fronts across his career so I think he would be a great mentor to the young guys on adjusting and learning different styles. BG is a terrific vet to have on the team, but he's a 4-3 DE. Campbell could come in and show guys like Davis and Carter how to play different positions and how to use their longer frames to their advantage. Totally different player than BG.

I don't think it was an age thing with Reddick. I'm convinced that it was a fit and money thing. Pretty clear at this point that if Fangio wanted him he'd still be here considering all of the recent moves. Fangios scheme looks like it would put Reddick back in the position where he was least effective... not pass rushing every down. So why spend money on that better off paying the talented WRs.

Draft is over....  Predictions on who wins Rookie of Year on Offense and same question on Defense!!

I'm going to pick Marvin Harrison Jr. for O (not going out on limb much) and Junior Colson for Defense
