This is my worst nightmare, all my friends are Steelers fans and I’ve done nothing but trash KP for the last 2 yrs because he sucks.

Well their starting QB is good enough to be our QB3

Of course he wouldn't.  Pickett sucked there.

But he may well be a victim of circumstance.  That team want a good spot for a rookie QB to succeed.

Sua Opeta to the Bucs. He was kinda meh.

He was completely meh.

And someone else will fall those 22 extra spots.  They have the same number of lottery tickets to use this year.   So, its a matter of drafting Nakobe Dean, or landing Kelee Ringo.   Same difference in my mind.

Lots of consternation, but backup QB greater need than flyer on random unknown possibility of a draft pick difference between 98 and 120.  It's at this time of year folks get all fired up over specific draft pick possibilities, but when the time comes... its not really a big deal.

No one is claiming he's Foles 2.0.  The hope would be, if it comes to that, for a minor injury to Hurts and he returns for the playoffs, but that in the meantime, you get competent play.  We have a RB to lean on now, and some great weapons around him, unlike the crap in Pittsburgh, and a legit OC/playcaller.   I trust that he could help them win (or more exactly not lose them) a couple of games if called upon.

Don't know about that lol

And what if he plays like Kenny Pickett?

I like this trade a lot; Pickett was a good prospect coming out of Pitt.  He's cheap, young, and can win a game or two in the very high likelihood that Hurts misses time this season.

He's an ideal backup in a lot of ways.  He's not going to push the starter, he's not going to wow people into creating a QB controversy, but he's more than serviceable for a short stretch.

And he's cheap. Some of the backup QBs, who are probably no better, are costing $6-10M.

Dallas Cowboys release linebacker Leighton Vander Esch with failed physical designation

Friend of mine messaged me instantly "enjoy that bum"

Did Pickett sleep with your friend's wife or something?

Gallup also released as a post June 1 designation

Injury prone player? Howie is running to the phone

Dallas can draft LBs but they never stay healthy lol

Pickett's salary this year is less than $1M.

Guess that's not too bad.  Figured it'd be higher with him being a 1st round pick.  Hopefully they let McKee actually compete with him then for that #2 spot.

They certainly did him dirty but he had a better chance to beat out a washed Russ than Hurts

But he has a better chance of being coached up on the Eagles. And to play with more talent if Hurts gets hurt.

Taking the longer view, the Eagles are a better situation than the Steelers, low pressure with a top OC where he can learn for two years and be ready when the next starting opportunity comes along.

He's a guy that can fill in for the inevitable game or 2 if needed.

I think the Panthers got him.

People put way too much stock into preseason.

At least McKee has that.  Pickett has nothing in his entire career to hang his hat on besides his draft position.

I'd kick the tires, but have to check out the knee he blow out in 2021, if he's close to 100%, he could be an affordable options at WR3.

Why would you want that?  That would render this trade completely useless, meaning all we did is give up draft capital to have Tiny Hands prove that he's total crap.

Jaylen - destroyed knee in bowl game, LVE - injured neck and knee in college, S Lee - two separate knee injuries a year apart (PCL & ACL)...Jerrah at the draft "Hold my beer and watch this!"

If a player refused to dress cause he was demoted Philly would hate him too.

I don't understand the love for McKee and his 50% completion percentage against third stringers, street free agents, and XFL/USFL guys in the preseason last year.

Either go high end backup or let McKee have his chance.  McKee looked better in preseason last year than Pickett has at any point in his pro career.

What high end backup? Minshew has a starting job! That shows you how fast the QB group thins out.

I doubt Pickett is worse than Mariota, at least he has more upside.

Then KP will say he is going home and not to call him
