You're talking like 4th rd picks are 7th rd picks which is why you're coming across like you don't value them.

And you be clear, your first comment said OUR 4th rd picks rarely pan out. Implying we suck at it more than other teams. Which might be true, but that exposes another issue that needs to be addressed, not worked around.

Not at all. I value all picks. And I don’t know if we suck at it more than other teams or not. I just know our track record of late has been a problem. I do agree with you that, we should look to fix that instead of trading away picks. But in certain circumstances I think it is a wise investment. Especially in a move that fills a need while also saving quite a bit of cap space allowing us to allocate those resources elsewhere. I think we both agree on certain things. I think my initial comments may have miscommunicated that.

Cool, so you'd prefer Flacco say and 98 versus Pickett, White, and 120.

Yup!

8 hours of posts about Pickett or not to Pickett? And we wonder why the nation thinks Philly fans are knuckleheads?

Add about 3 more zeros after that 8.

Fair enough

I agree that I would not have paid a backup 8 million over this trade.

But I would have rolled with McKee as backup over this trade. Pickett was a bottom 3 QB in the NFL in 2023. He was so bad. If he was a 3rd round pick instead of a first rounder, there would be far fewer people into this trade. Pickett legitimately sucks. The Steelers got markedly better when Mason freaking Rudolph played for them. And he's barely an NFL player.

I heard Kenny P. cheats at Monopoly

I live in Steelers country and they are all mad about this trade. They wanted him to have a development year and they think they lost the trade by a wide margin. They were ecstatic when Rudolph left the team though.

I made an argument in January that Howie should be fired. Try again.

No you try again.  That argument was dumb.

Howie is elite.

Yep, I think that's a big factor. Literally nobody in here was praising the Seahawks for the Howell trade despite the fact that the draft capital was roughly equal and he looks to be a much better QB imo. I get it, as fans it's not uncommon to overlook good moves made by other teams and be hyper focused on your own, but I also think where they were both drafted is skewing things.

Fair enough. But for some of the others like afan and HE, that's definitely a factor. You never see them criticize Howie.

As for Pickett, I'm not as cynical as lean green. He might turn out to be a decent backup, but I just feel like burning that draft capital on him is a luxury we can't afford given the state of our roster. I'd much prefer to spend it on some depth players for OL, DB, or LB.

Actually not true.  I admit the mistakes he makes like paying Bradberry.  Not valuing LBs and RBs. I wasn't very complimentary about the Barkley signing even though I think he will do well here....

You just don't listen.

I’m not saying it wasn’t. My opinion isn’t based on a move just because it was made by Howie though.

The fact you brought this up as a retort to me saying you don't criticize him, is kinda my point.

You don't actually have a point. It's called being wrong.

We had pick 98. We slid back to pick 120. It only cost us 22 spots.

So a player one round inferior

That’s crazy to me

Im curious what your argument is here. Not hating or anything just want to understand why you think that

I was annoyed he devalued certain positions and I think it cost us. Based on reports I also thought he was the reason for Patricia.

I like the White (potential) and love the Barkley signings. I personally think he is having a good offseason this year. Last year was bad and I think he was told that too.

I've been cooking another video up in the lab.  Is it going to ruffle some feathers? Maybe, but you can't piss into the wind here without ruffling some feathers with this flock.

Wait, when did they change the draft from 32 picks per round to 22?

I thought the expression was something about not being able to piss into the wind without getting some on yourself 🤣

Which we could move from pick 120 to 90 and give up a 5th and a later pick.

I’ve never seen "up to” do so much work. That’s a lot of incentives.

Wait. The Jets were surprised he took the offer they offered? So they just lowballed him and he said ok?

I read it as they were surprised he took the offer because of the stipulations. Especially with how much he has been hurt.

And in a Jets kind of way, they then leaked that to the media.

Exactly. That’s why you act like you’re the smartest guys in the world and not actually admit it.
