RAS or PFF ranking, which do you prefer?

Not only does he actually say the tweet aloud, but he credits its retweet popularity to his finger on the Cowboys’ pulse. The video perfectly hovers between troll job and "this guy really doesn’t know”

I've come around after my initial reaction of trading a 3rd round pick but like you said, they only dropped 22 slots and we all know Howie can maneuver and get back in the 3rd (or at least I hope he does).

I think we need to be careful at assuming the Eagles can and will develop any QB that steps in to the NovaCare though. That ability left several coaching staffs ago. I don't think this current staff, much of who is new now, has shown any ability to develop QBs.

Between DP and Sirianni, we've had Carson Wentz, Nick Foles, Nate Sudfeld, Chase Daniel, Josh McCown, Gardner Minshew, Tanner McKee and Marcus Mariota.

The only QB they were able to get anything out of was Carson Wentz and that was a magic act pulled by Howie after he crashed and burned here.

We all love Nick Foles, but aside from his heroic moments and his 27-2 season, Foles hasn't been good. Daniel, Minshew and McCown are all your run of the mill back up QBs, none of which were drafted or developed here. Mariota was a head scratcher signing and did nothing. They have so much faith in McKee, they traded for Kenny Pickett. 2024 is HUGE for Jalen Hurts because IMO, as good as he was in 2022, 2023 was a regression year.

QB Factory no more.

We also need to be careful with our claims of the Eagles having the best OL in the NFL. The best line in the NFL lost the best Center in the NFL and now has two huge question marks at Center and RG. There's plenty of excitement about Saquon running behind this OL, but we still don't know how they will perform.

Actually Nussmeier has a pretty good reputation for developing and working with QBs.  Moore was perhaps the most cerebral QB to come out of college in the last dozen years (he came out the year of Case Keenum and Nick Foles).  Just so people realize it, Keenum still holds the NCAA records for most passing yards, most passing touchdowns and total yards. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Keenum coach QBs after retirement.  If only Keenum and Moore had NFL QB sized arms and bodies.  While Nick did, he was streaking and had a wind up in college that was ridiculous but Nick fixed his mechanics mostly.

Pickett, like most first round choices got thrown to the wolves immediately.  I doubt he will be totally happy being 2nd but that breeds hunger.  He can take advantage of that and learn from Nuss and Moore and develop.  One thing that was a good point for him coming from college was his willingness to put in the work.  QB factory is alive and well.

FWIW, Colts fans say he’s legit.

Wow.  That's CHEAP.   I wonder what the contract will look like... it will likely be massive.

If only we had had a 2024 3rd round pick to counter that offer.

I think they are both overblown in importance by most that tout them as definitively showing anything.   BUT... at least RAS is based on hard data, whereas PFF is highly subjective and highly questionable, especially when you see some of their rankings.

He might be the Eagles' first round selection.

Howie knows Moore will get a HC job next year after a big bounce back season by the offense, including two starts by Pickett where he throws for 300 yards and three touchdowns each game. Howie then traded Pickett to Moore’s team for a second round pick. Chess, not checkers.

They have enough pass rushers now I think. I hope they don't use a first on another speed type rusher. A player like Darius Robinson or Verse I'd think could make sense.

In the draft we imagine Eagles doing CB-LB-WR with first 3 picks when reality will probably be OL-DL-trade

And then LB-WR-CB in the fifth with Howie walking into the day 3 press conference like he did a thing

I hear you... but depth at QB trumps depth needs at OL and DB... and LB?   This team doesn't know what a starting LB is.  All we ever have are 'depth' guys.

I guess I'm more eager to see what he have in McKee before cutting bait on him. And yeah, the fact our LBs are still huge question marks mean I'd prefer to spend some mid round picks on them in the hopes we get a prospect that could turn into a semi-capable starter from one of them.

It cannot be over stated how bad that Steelers O under Canada was - it was gross, basic and the lack of elite OL only made it look worse.  Pickens looks average, they had a WR the fans called Dropson etc. It won't for one minute make Pickett better just because he's gone, but getting away from that organisation will improve many O players chances of having a good career.  Tomlin needs to go and the owner needs to step it back too

The NFL world has moved on but the Steelers have not.  And it's funny to watch

Ya i actually think he's got decent mobility and good enough arm strength. It's the mechanics, accuracy, and mental processing that leave a lot to be desired. The latter can be explained away by the system, coaching, and talent surrounding him. Nobody is confusing that Steelers offense for a healthy environment to nurture a young, developing QB. But mechanics and accuracy are difficult attributes to change this late in someone's career.

Edit: To clarify, I mean his entire football career, but just NFL career.

I have resigned myself to a second-round guard.

1st round will be OT, 2nd round will be OG/C. DT or WR, 4th round LB or S.  That's my assumption.

Can see a 2nd rounder being used to trade up for a OT too

This is the player I want to trade for.

I'd be ok with a player that can start at RG and give us high level play, I'm thinking Powers-Johnson, Fautanu, Latham. The latter two can ply RT if necessary. But by the time Lane hangs them up, hopefully the new RG is already established and dominant, like Logan is right now, and they do not want to move him. I'm not a believer this year in drafting a pure RT to have him sit around for years wasting his rookie contract years while not helping the team right now. Count me out on that.

It hasn’t really translated at the NFL level. He was certainly more mobile in college around lesser players. Even so, my point was it’s nothing special.
