Kind of hard to argue with this after the collapse.

We're all anxious to see if the issue was more HC/QB or OC/DC.

Keen Allen almost was traded to the Texans. That would have been really fun to see.

I’m disappointed that Nolan Smith is on the fast track to Andre Dillard status.

Pending a physical

Today is the 20th anniversary from the day the Eagles traded for TO.

I remember vividly how and when I saw the news: USAF basic training, the chow line always had "news of the day" on a sheet of paper as we shuffled through. That morning one of the headlines was something like "49ers trade Terrell Owens to the Philadelphia Eagles." Lol

I don't think it even has to be that cut and dried. Sirriani lost control of the situation.  That doesn't mean he won't learn from it and do better with an offseason to evaluate what went wrong.

I remember that whole saga vividly, his agent forgot to execute the player option in his contract so he wasn’t a free agent like he was supposed to be. Then he got traded to the Ravens. Ray Lewis said TO told him at the pro bowl he wanted to be a Raven. Then TO flipped his crap and refused to report, so we had to trade a lineman to the 49ers that we didn’t intend to trade in order to compensate for the difference in what the Ravens offered for him. When in actuality we shouldn’t have had to trade anything but he is a dope

Not really, coaching was very obviously the issue last year with two brain dead coordinators and an equally brain dead HC. Now they have two new, established coordinators and sirianni is nothing but a cheerleader at this point.

That aside, even with the crap coaching they still won 10 games with a harder schedule than they'll have this year. To say they'll win 5-6 games is laughably ridiculous, even for a clown like cataldi.

True that's an overly simplistic view. Everyone has some degree of blame. I'm just hoping we fixed to root causes of the issue with Johnson/Desai/Patricia gone. And ya know, competent DBs. 🤞

I guess I'm more eager to see what he have in McKee before cutting bait on him. And yeah, the fact our LBs are still huge question marks mean I'd prefer to spend some mid round picks on them in the hopes we get a prospect that could turn into a semi-capable starter from one of them.

Thats the point. Its wasting a resource

1st round will be OT, 2nd round will be OG/C. DT or WR, 4th round LB or S.  That's my assumption.

Can see a 2nd rounder being used to trade up for a OT too

There's no way they use 2 of their first 3 picks at OL, it would be unjustifiable and a gross misuse of assets when both of those players would be backups for at least 2 years unless they've already given up on Steen and don't think Hennessy can start.

The only way they can justify an OL pick in the first is a guy who is, right now, a better G than steen and Hennessy and can slide to RT and dominate when lane retires in a couple of years.

There's a better chance they pick a guard with the later 2nd but that would still be stupid.

This team loves the OL but not that much, and if they were to do any of what is in your post then Howie should be fired.

It will be first round OT or day 3 interior guys

Much prefer they spend one of the first three picks on DT than OL.

LB is a no brainer with one of their seconds as well. From there a toss up between CB or WR with the other.

I hope Pickett gets to start the Week 1 game in Brazil and lays 450 passing yards on the steelers for a big win.

Don't jump the gun on that one.  He's got a great attitude and knows how to work.  I expect him to take a jump with a full offseason of NFL level training and a competent coaching staff.  Once he stops thinking and can let his athletic talent takeover he will be fine.

I'll be pissed if they take an OT in the first unless it's the situation I stated previously, and even then they basically have to nail the rest of the draft for it to not be a waste.

DT would also be gross misuse of assets, you can't use 3 first round picks in a row at one position when you've got gaping holes elsewhere.

You'd think LB is a no brainer, but this team refuses to value the position at all so they'll probably wait until the 4th to get one. I could definitely see them going CB/WR in the 2nd, hopefully in that order if it did happen.

The main culprits for the collapse aren't here anymore and the man in that pic has been stripped of his play calling duties.

With Lanes age and injuries its a smart pick even if he doesnt jump right in at guard. Have to think long term

agree with you completely on DT. High pick there would be stupid

I can see it now, Hurts will go down mid season for 5-6 games and Pickett lights it up. Playoffs come and everyone does not want Hurts to come back and wants to trade Hurts next season and keep Pickett

Oh it will be all the people who are complaining now about this trade wanting to keep Pickett and say they loved him from day one.
