Pickett is a better QB than Fields.  Fields is a better runner than Pickett, but offers absolutely nothing else.

It’s not even particularly close.

Has he even watched these players?

Jayden Daniels will be the best NFL QB from this draft class — IF he can stay healthy ( big if, due to his somewhat slender frame).  Fields was garbage straight out of OSU.

Wicked smahht but he looks 12 and I don't trust anyone who looks 12

That’s pretty much it. If he were 35 and could grow a beard, he’d be be liked. I think some people are just put off by young people who know ball.

Meh. His sack rate is a real issue

Ive sure run in to this around here.

Lol "if you throw out sacks"

When you’re throwing 40 TD against 4 INT, taking a sack looks insignificant

Mosher and Caplan said the day legal tampering opened that the eagles had interest in Burks. I suspect he was our target as a second LB addition all along.

Speaking of pompous

Where is the backing of the Pickett better QB than Fields narrative?  13 passing TDs in 24 games as starter.  Both are crappy QBs but this bizzaro narrative some here are trying to push that Pickett is a better passer based on absolutely nothing shown in the pros is odd.  Like what exactly does Pickett offer?

For all we know, Pickett could take the same course as Ryan Tannehill.

Imagine what the Titans thought when they saw Tannehill walking into the building - he was a college WR-turned QB that was drafted high and never panned out in Miami.  Next thing you know Tannehill became a decent starter for a while and even flirted with a Super Bowl.  Certainly isn't a course anyone expected but it's not impossible either.

Fields passes the eye test better, but we have to remember that there's a reason he's on the move.  Any excuses he would have for why he didn't stick with Chicago, they apply to Pickett with the Steelers too.

Yeah, you could certainly do far worse than solak but he gets some of the basics wrong at times and makes too many assumptions. Though to a certain degree I don't blame him too much because it's a competitive market, and simply saying, "I'm not really sure what this assignment/read/call was supposed to be in this situation" makes you sound uninformed, when that's just the reality of watching games on the couch instead of from the sideline or in the huddle. As observers, we can only speculate as to what should've happened sometimes, but when your job is to sound like you know what's going on, you have to be more declarative (ie make assumptions) instead which tends to blur the line between subjective opinion and objective fact. Romo was actually pretty good about walking that fine line initially.

In the old days, before they started giving everyone access to the all-22 footage, we had nothing at all except to hope and pray that Jaws would do a 3 minute segment with us on NFL Matchup. But now you've got guys like Orlovsky on NFL Live and Carr on NFLN, along with blogger guys like JTOS, Baldy, and Solak, then Duffy's putting out pretty darn good stuff every week on the team's website, along with access to the footage yourself.

Ok, so here’s the tally so far…

New/Old

Jurgens<<Kelce

Steen/Hennessey<Jurgens

Pickett>Mariota (fight me)

Barkley >> Swift

Albert O = Stoll (I could go either way)

Parker > Quez/Julio (not by that much)

Huff > Graham/Smith (assuming Sweat and Reddick stay)

White > Cunningham (If not, yikes)

Burks = Morrow (or close enough)

CJGJ > Byard/Brown/Edmunds

Pickett was never close to the QB Tannehill was in Miami.  Tannehill had a decent run in Miami.  It's like a number of members of the blog have lived in an alternate reality where Pickett wasn't anything other than one of the worst QBs in the league his entire career so far.

Kempski said the Eagles targeted a couple LBs early in free agency, but weren't able to get it done so they pivoted to Devin White.

No names?

No idea how this could be accurate.

He said he can't get into any names. My guess is he was told off the record.

My guess is Al Shaair and either Jordyn Brooks or Cashman. I'd be stunned if Al Shaair wasn't one of them though.

Also,

Kellen Moore >>> Brian Johnson

Vic Fangio >>> Desai/Fatricia

Makes sense. Bummer. But stuff happens. Have to move on to alternate plans

So they failed, they had more than enough money under the cap to land one and they just failed. Great

Lost Cox. I know we expect a leap but Cox is still a contributor from last season not replaced. Also Avonte is not signed and no one is really there.

They had that $39M before any of the FA deals so that's not updated unless there's some serious sorcery going around. You know Howie do
