I disagree. I think he’ll be the best tackle from this year’s draft…after a redshirt year.

Over Mims?

guyton is probably a safer pick than both

Love the Zinter pick

First round is too high for him

Totally disagree.

I think we may be lucky to get him at 22. he’s got everything — size, low center of gravity, balance, mobility, power.

The only reason he may drop to us is because of how raw he is.

I'm interested in Blackmon and Simmons. Not sure if the Eagles are though. Maybe they're only interested at a certain price and hope one falls into their lap. I truly don't feel just adding CJGJ is adequate at safety especially with Brown tearing his ACL in December and CJGJ being injury prone.

Which precisely why its too high

Nah, you pay for this level of talent.

Blackmon signed with the Bills

Let’s talk OL for a second.  The scenarios everyone is discussing:

1. Jurgens center with Steen vs Hennessy OG

2. New center…Hennessy vs high draft pick with Jurgens staying at RG.

I really don’t like option 2.  Jurgens silenced a lot of doubters by playing admirably at RG this year, but he’s a prototypical C, not RG.  He was a high second round pick because of how he projects as a C with our OL philosophy, not because of his traits as a G.  While he’ll be "fine” at RG, I don’t think he’ll play up to that pick status or match his fit as a C.  I see Jurgens at RG as "forcing it” more so than Steen at RG.

Mailata - LT
Landon - LG
Jurgens - C
Steen - RG
Lane - RT

Hennessy - backup C/RG

other backups will be backups.

If Steen sucks at RG (he won't - there won't be some competition,  just like there wasn't any competition last year at RG between Jurgens and Steen, and if there was, it was over in less than a week) the Eagles currently have

Lecitus Smith  C
Matt Hennessy C/G
Darian Kinnard G
Jason Poe C/G

Brett Toth G
Fred Johnson T
Le'Raven Clark T

Which of these 7 will make the 53?   That's fun game to play,  and not one like "why the obvious Jurgens at C, Steen at RG won't happen".

What attributes do those 7 have that makes you want to keep them on the 53 instead of being replaced by 5th round or later draft picks or udfas who all won the combine or the pro day?

Fred Johnson did pretty well.  He's also big.
Jason Poe is unusually short,  and someone here recommended him for Fullback,  because his size and pro day winning seemed to indicate Fullback for him.
Hennessy looks like a backup Center who will be a game day eligible.

A tweet was just posted in here that he was heading there for a visit. Did he already sign?

Just a visit for now. Hasn't signed yet.

I think Mims will go before us anyway, I feel we still going OT. I want Kool Aid

I understand. Both those guys are further along and can start sooner, if not right away. I just think he has more talent, especially in his feet. They just float. And his arms go on forever.

Safety still needs to be addressed. As does LB, but that's obvious.

Look to touch neither in the first several rounds and get roster cuts as camp goes on for "depth". You know it's happening

If he jumps every out route without safety help and wags his finger around all day, you have Jalen Mills.

Say what you will, but we got WAY more mileage out of that 7th round pick than we did Sydney Jones (2nd round), Rasul Douglas (3rd round), and Ronald Darby (3rd round pick trade) combined.

We should’ve re-signed Rasul tbf.

And continued to misuse him?  How does that help?

What's his RAS though?

we don't know - didn't run at the combine

it's a small ding,  which might allow him to fall to the Eagles at 22.

Curious, how would you rank the following "tier 2 and 3” OTs? Do you think there is a significant difference in upside between them?

Mims

Fautanu

Guyton

Suamataia

Morgan

Paul

Personally I like Mims and Suamataia the most followed by Guyton.

Mims seems ponderous to me. Quick guys will eat him up.

Fautanu strikes me as a really good guard prospect.

Guyton will have big problems with quick guys who get low.

I’m with you on Suamataia. Really good prospect. Very tough with good feet.

Morgan’s gonna be a guard and probably a good one.

I don’t have a good sense of Paul. Sorry. A fleeting sense that he’s not powerful but  I could be way off.

The Eagles, last year,  had 2 starting ILBs on the field at one time.

At the beginning of the preseason,  the play was for Dean to be the green dot, and Morrow to be the other one.

Reports out of camp were that Morrow wasn't doing too well,  so,  in August,  Cunningham was added.   Myles Jack was added after that.

Week 1 the ILBs were Dean, Morrow, Cunningham.

Then Dean was hurt,  and Morrow and Cunningham were the ILBs.

Note the numbers.  2 ILBs or 3 ILBs last year.

How many ILBs do the Eagles have - even before the draft.

Dean - same guy,  likely to be the same starting green dot guy.

VanSumeren - had the best PFF of the Eagles ILBs last year.

Devin White - top draft pick not long ago,  he's sometimes good at pass rush.

Zach Baun - a 225 pound OLB,  and the Eagles currently have 4 OLBs.

Oren Burks - a ILB the Eagles just got last week.

The Eagles have,  now,  more ILBs than they had last year.

It's obvious that ILB is NOT a need.   The Eagles could add one because they see a player as the BPA.   But not because they haven't filled their cupboard.
