Huh? What kind of audio issue would cause them to edit out only the name "Foles" while still preserving the word "touchdown" at the end?

It's not a big deal to hear his name, but that then begs the question for why they had to edit it out to begin with.

I don't know but maybe the audio cut out that moment.  Probably just a coincidence.

There is no reason to edit out Foles name at all.  It's kinda stupid to think Brady or anyone else had his name cut out because they couldn't stand to hear it mentioned.

Much to do about nothing.

Lmao the end of interview

No, it was never an option before him

Mailata - LT
Landon - LG
Jurgens - C
Steen - RG
Lane - RT

Hennessy - backup C/RG

other backups will be backups.

If Steen sucks at RG (he won't - there won't be some competition,  just like there wasn't any competition last year at RG between Jurgens and Steen, and if there was, it was over in less than a week) the Eagles currently have

Lecitus Smith  C
Matt Hennessy C/G
Darian Kinnard G
Jason Poe C/G

Brett Toth G
Fred Johnson T
Le'Raven Clark T

Which of these 7 will make the 53?   That's fun game to play,  and not one like "why the obvious Jurgens at C, Steen at RG won't happen".

What attributes do those 7 have that makes you want to keep them on the 53 instead of being replaced by 5th round or later draft picks or udfas who all won the combine or the pro day?

Fred Johnson did pretty well.  He's also big.
Jason Poe is unusually short,  and someone here recommended him for Fullback,  because his size and pro day winning seemed to indicate Fullback for him.
Hennessy looks like a backup Center who will be a game day eligible.

Back-up at OT is thin.  Can't be comfortable if any of the current bench guys are called up.  Still think they will draft an OT early, perhaps in the 1st round.  Even he is not ready right away, it is much more confident in late season or next.

I still don't get why it is an option now.  🤷‍♂️

Because it’s cool and teams are running out of numbers because of dopey stuff like honoring Brent Celek.

Texans first L of the season. Those leaks are awful.

I'd imagine they just reset the pipeline and bring in young talent to develop for cheap. They already have Fred Johnson and Hennessy as veteran backups, and Steen very likely could be backup RG/RT after the draft.

My theory is if Steen doesn’t win the RG spot he becomes the new backup swing tackle like Big V was here

It's cool?  Agree to disagree.

Also having single digit pass rushers just looks wrong too.   And adding one extra number doesn't really fix the problem.

Maybe but that makes Fred Johnson irrelevant who I think they like enough since they gave him a 2 year extension. Ever since Dillard it seems like they prefer backups on specific sides. I realize part of that was Dillard being terrible when asked to switch sides, but it feels like Eagles also changed their philosophy a little bit.

Because teams like the Eagles have 9 numbers retired and another 3 haven't been handed out since they were last worn. You can probably add 62 and 91 to the list, followed by 55 next year. When you only have 99 numbers and 15 of them are off limits, what else can they do? What happens when Jake Elliott retires and Lane Johnson retire? It's a silly practice that isn't practical when you have limitations.

It's brought up every few months on here but retiring numbers is dumb. Create a ring of honor and only retire numbers in extreme cases. Create a special patch or decal for a number that's being honored during a certain season.

-Death of a player like Jerome Brown.

-HOF player who was drafted by and played entire career as an Eagle.

Eventually something has to give because soon enough they are going to have 1/5 of the numbers not even available.

I don't dislike them.

Which non first round WR's do you guys like?  Big fan of McMillan

And adding 1 extra jersey number doesn't fix the problem.  The same problem exists, only now we have a stupid number.    Maybe add triple digits to the mix, or negative numbers too!

If that's real, it's a complete downgrade. I have my doubts though. Based on the reports I've read, from people close to the team who have seen them, every uniform has some hint of powder blue as an accent and they were changing the shade of blue to a brighter navy blue.

Stick with the red.  Red uniforms, red helmets.  For road games the trim needs to be red, and stay with the red helmets.

Better yet, 1A, 2A and so on. I agree with you. Now, in the college game, I love the single digits on speed rushers, WR, CB and LB. It's what made the college game look different from the NFL. You knew if there was a single digit pass rusher on a team, he was a dog. If a WR was wearing 1, he was either a speed demon, or a 6-5 beast. LB wearing 1, get ready to be hit hard.

Now in the NFL we have backups and JAGs wearing what I call the "special numbers".

Or maybe we create a special number program where certain numbers aren't retired, but only captains are eligible for them or something...like a prestige number, per se

There's a really easy fix -- allow decimals.

"Playing QB -- number 1.2 -- Joe Namath IV"

Now you have almost a thousand choices.  Give or take.  If you wanna go triple digits you could carry on for centuries.

The Texans uniforms were about as good as a "modern" uniform could look. They incorporated traditional pants stripes but it worked well with their shoulder stripe. I think the league is far too navy blue and black so moving to red full time would be a huge move. My biggest concern with their new set is that it's being reported they have 4 different uniforms with zero interchangeable elements, including of course, an all-black uniform.

Hate the Cowboys but they've done it right. You know they are giving 88 to their next best WR. CeeDee Lamb wanted to wear 10 but Jerry wanted him to wear 88 to keep the legacy going.

Clemson and Michigan do a great job of handing out legend numbers and the players wearing them also wear a patch to commemorate it.

Thats a dumb rule, all it means is Michael Irvin is disqualified from having his number retired when the Emmitt Smith’s and the Troy Aikman’s are up in the rafters
