if Baun will be off ball, at least he will look as good as Moise Fokou doing it.

No team will pay Reddick what he wants. Trading him for a lame pick would be so dumb and ruin the off-season. I don’t get their utter obsession with trading him. It makes no sense.

The writing was on the wall for Reddick as soon as they restructured Sweat and decided to keep him. They didn't pay Huff what they did to be a rotational pass rusher and right or wrong they aren't going to let a first round pick like Smith ride the bench again. Huff, Sweat, Smith, BG, and Baun should be more than enough assuming Smith takes even a moderate step forward.

cant think of many times a player says he wants to be here, but then the team and him cant come together on a deal. But, it did happen with Malcolm Jenkins.

They made their choice to get younger when they signed Huff and restructured Sweat, and are obviously going to give Smith a chance to play. It might be the right move, might be wrong, but it looks like Howie is trusting more in youth after he doubled down on age at CB last year.

That's weird to me.  If they were trading him eating the the million would get them a bigger return.  And why would he agree to push it back. Honestly makes me think they are reworking contract.

I think when eagles didn't make qualifying offer for Stoll that probably made him not count but not sure

Not making an offer moved him from RFA to UFA.  Size of contract determines picks.  Right now, Swift and Mariota are definites above.  So are Barkley, Huff and CJGJ with the possibility that White is above the line too.  Likely Baun, Parker and Burks are below the comp threshold thus what Driscoll, Stoll and Opeta signed for really impacts potential for comp picks.

Not keeping an elite pass rusher still at the top of his game who isn’t even 30 yet but then turning around and signing a 27 year old RB… the age where RBs typically fall off a cliff would be very hypocritical to me. Especially if they don’t get a good pick for Reddick. If they want to get younger then let him play out his final year and let him walk after 2024. He’s not the old and is a damn good player.

Can we just appreciate how badly Jermy Fouler butchered his name...

I dunno. What you say makes some sense but why not just pay that measly $1M and work it into the reworked figure?

It also doesn’t mean bigger return. Whoever is trading for him has to give him an extension so that bonus would be meaningless.

Reddick and a second to Baltimore for #27 overall?

Who hides it better, the NFL skit girl, or the AT&T girl?

AT&T GIRL Milana vayntrub

Skit girl is ten times hotter

I don't see any reason he'd agree to push it back.  They weren't going to cut him if he didn't push it back.  if they did he'd be in a strong position on the free market

This is quite a quandary.

We might need a poll for this.

I added to my original comment. It’s meaningless to a new team because they are just giving him a new deal anyway at the time of trade. The only reason to push it back is so Eagles don’t pay it. He likely agreed to it because it’s to the point he’s not likely to return and this helps facilitate a resolution.

Reeks of a typical Eagles overcorrection. Bradberry backfired so they won’t pay big money to a defensive player older than 28 for years now.

I wouldn't say he's at the top of his game. He wasn't nearly as good last season as he was in 2022. Maybe that's because everyone sucked last year on defense but if Bradberry doesn't get the benefit of the doubt I'm not sure why a soon to be 30 year old Reddick should.

Also paying Barkley big money at 27 and 28 is a lot different than paying Reddick big money at 31 and 32 which is where the big money would kick in on an extension. One has nothing to do with the other, they basically chose Huff who is 3 and a half years younger over Reddick and only time will tell if it was the right decision.

"Older than 28?" Reddick will be 30 in September and would be getting big money at 31 and 32 years old on an extension.

In the middle of the season when he got the cast off, for a good chunk of the season he was on the same sack pace as he was in 2022. The cast hurt his play in the beginning of the season and at the end of the season the whole defense fell off a cliff. I think for Reddick you can totally wave off the first few games and the end of the season. He showed in the meat of the schedule he was still as good as ever. And I think with a real defensive coordinator, he will be back to his 15 sack self in 2024.

Perhaps, but he also struggled down the stretch with only 2.5 sacks over the last 6 games. Also, will he be a 15 sack guy at 31 and 32? I'm just playing like devil's advocate here and trying to get inside of their thinking. As I said above, I think they simply chose Huff who is three and a half years younger than him and projected him to be the better player moving forward. They also invested a high pick in Smith and need to find out if he can play.
