No, not really

No, it really does.   It tells that story that football players are measured by more than their raw numbers in shorts.

A neck procedure that will keep him out 5 months doesn't sound great.

Chase Young?  $13mil?  No way, man.

Overrated as f

Oh, yea that. I meant RAS itself doesn't tell a story.

Is that from the neck injury he suffered in the preseason or is this from something new?

Anyway he's starting to sound injury prone

They have to trade Reddick.  It’s just unquestionably the right move.

30 years old, trending down, wants more money.  What more do you need to know?

Was he the best player on the defense last year?  Maybe.  He WONT be the best player this year.  But he’s a pure pass rusher who had 11 sacks.  He’s nothing special against the run and is a liability in coverage with his hybrid edge role.  11 sacks as a pure pass rusher for the worst defense in the nfl?  Wanting a raise at 30?

Why is it so hard to say no?  Get what you can.

Because the present season matters as well

Chase Young was billed as the next big time DE in the league & as safe of a prospect as it gets. He’ll now be on his third team in his first 4 seasons, kinda crazy. Shows how much of the draft is a crapshoot.

He reminds me of a lesser Clowney in that I think he’ll kinda follow Clowney’s career arc where he’s going to bounce around a bunch of teams as the defensive mercenary that can have an impact but not stick around anywhere long term

I think it's mostly his personality, plus some bad injury luck. He has the tools to be great, but he has a lot of Albert Haynesworth in him. Seeing him loaf around and take multiple plays off tells me he doesn't really care about reaching his full potential.

Yeah, he’s probably the best representation of the player that easily skates by in HS & college based off his size/athleticism but can’t once he reaches the NFL. He’s still doing enough to make a chunk of change, that’s likely based off his pedigree mostly, for a team like the Saints with all their cap woes to give him 13m guaranteed knowing he might not be ready by August says something. But he should have been the kind of player resetting the EDGE market. Lucky for us he didn’t work out for Washington

I mean it's the Browns - they gave Josh Gordon like 17 chances

I'd like to say the Eagles earned the benefit of the doubt, but after last year's "We'll go into the season with Edmunds, Dean, Cunningham, Morrow starting on defense and be fine, and if not we'll figure out a solution" which turned into one big fat "Oops! That didn't work out so well, did it?" They don't just deserve to be blindly trusted that they know what they are doing and everything will turn out fine when you let good players walk. Like they did with CJGJ and Edwards last year and utterly failed to replace them and their moves and draft picks didn't work out.

Surprised Howie didn't try to get Toohill. He loves doing that kind of move
