  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

RAS is a good tool, but athleticism is not the end all be all. The Colts and Packers aren't dominating the NFL.

As with all tools... it has a sphere where it works, and a lot more spheres where it doesn't.

A hammer is a great tool... if its used properly.   If you try to use the hammer to cut a board, you end up with a mess.    We have a guy walking around with a hammer bashing everything in sight.

Bradley should get a camp invite. He'll also be a full year removed from the Achilles when the season starts.

I have to ask... why do you think they bring back Penny?   They treated him like a leper last season.

Penny?

Who was I giving a hard time about their Rakestraw?

29:43, Voch Lombardi gets in to how much he loves Rakestraw. Has him as CB 3. I dont know who Voch is but Ive watched his draft stuff for a few years now. Hes pretty good.

I don’t see any way Penny comes back.

He didn’t play basically at all last season, which means:

1) He was healthy but the coaches didn’t like him. In which case he’s going to want to go to another team where he has a chance to play and earn some money.

or

2) He didn’t recover from injury. In which case I’m sure he’d like a few million to sit on the bench again but the eagles will look for another player.

Either way, he’s not coming back. Which is disappointing, because I thought he was a signing that could have paid huge dividends. But the fact is he had basically zero production.

I'd say his production, limited as it was, was actually a net negative.  He didn't run well, and he was even worse in pass protection.

This is a cover your bases report.  If 'the price is right'

Thank god we have caplan to tell us that Reddick is asking for too much money. I think we had no idea!

Perhaps it is... but it got the retweet from Jake.  So, it served his purposes.

At least it wasn't a fluid situation this time around

I would have said that before they signed Burks but from everything you hear, Burks is a ST ace, the one place Bradley was valuable so he's replaced.

My TC LB prediction- White, Dean, Burks, BVS, draft pick, UDFA, MAYBE  more depth LB signing as FA slows down.

Last year in camp they had Dean, Davon Taylor, Christian Ellis, Shaun Bradley, BVS on the 90-man TC roster.

Unless you're saying he should get a TC invite from one of the 31 other teams.

Loved that site

OT- Has anyone watched Warrior on Netflix, or Cinemax?

You have to.

From the writings of Bruce Lee which is daughter found after his death. She is involved in making the show.

Andrew Koji is a brilliant martial artist. Its a kung fu, mixed with western set in 1870s San Francisco. Depicting life during times with tumultuous racial relations between the Chinese and whites, and the Tong wars.

This show is full of brilliant characters and story arcs. Not just great fight scenes but overall very well acted. Amazing production.

Way too underappreciated. Cinemax made 3 seasons. Netflix picked it up now and hoping theyll create a 4th season, and more.

Its a must watch. One of the best shows on neftlix.

almost as good and much cheaper while bringing in an asset in trade?

I don't really know,  but sometimes you want to have cheaper players who do basically the same thing.

I'm not really a fan of OLB/edges who aren't or can't be ILBs.

OLB/edges get big money because they get a lot of sacks and they get a lot of snaps because they're pure sackers at a position that allows pure sackers the capability to make sacks.  230-240 players are generally not all that good at run defense, especially when the point of the play is to have a big guy block the edge guy.   There's a disadvantage all the time with the run.  If there was a big DE there,  260-290,  they wouldn't be putting runs in  direction quite as much.

It's not a big deal,  but the bigger edges tend to be better at run and the smaller ones better at pass rush.     What I think defenses noticed is that, generally,  it's the small fast ones who get more sacks.  What defenses could consider trying is putting very small and very fast players in the designated sacker position.   A mammoth giant tackle is said to have difficulty with smaller, faster rushers.  Quick first step and all that.   What if the sacker position was filled by Xavier Worthy with a 4.21 40?    Sackers are currently getting $20 Million or so for 11 sacks?   If you just use the fast little guys in rotation,   you might get the same results at lower cost.  Not being as good at run defense is something acceptable with smaller OLBs because they get more sacks,  should also be acceptable with very little players,  LBs, DBs,  anyone on offense who might bring something to the sacking table.  A DL of 3.  Big players,  and sackers between them instead of outside of them.

How much force do you think an OT would need to use to knock over a 6' less than 200lb WR?

It's a 3 year deal that will be renegotiated if he stays healthy, right?
