Busy consulting with Howie on the upcoming draft, obviously

Tell Howie to take the 3rd rd pick for Reddick and draft the Axe man. Slap him around if he refuses

Struggling to get excited about this draft tbh

Can anyone change my mind?

I'm with you there. I love the draft but this one just has me very meh. Part of it is the Eagles draft position is where Howie effs up the most, part of it is the realization whoever they pick won't play for 2 years and the rest is just the prospects available don't wow me at all.

Here's what he said when I suggested he draft a decent LB

Yea Howie in the 20s is God awful, which makes the only options 1) trading up which will cost assets we desperately need to rebuild the defense and 2) trade down where we will get a lesser player because this team can't scout properly.

Then on top of it you have all the chatter about them possibly going OT in the first. Same as you I'm not jumping for joy at the thought of a first rounder being spent on a backup.

I also don't trust Howie to draft on defense. He just isn’t good at it unless he's picking in the top 15. He'll draft a LB in the 5th and say he addressed the position with white, Burks, and that draft pick.

I know we always talk about getting some athletic LB's but what does everyone expect from Ben VanDammeSumeren this year?

I'd be absolutely stunned if they don't go OL in R1.

When does the league stop the pretense and just go to wearing flags?

How the hell do they expect a smaller guy to tackle a bigger guy? You grab, twist, and drag.

I agree. There are some really good OL, no really good DBs, and no LBs worth a top pick. Where we’re picking our OL will need a redshirt year but there several who can take over for Lane and a couple of them can work at guard for the time being.

Who do you think we consider moving up for?  Can't see it for WR, QB, TE which leaves

Fautanu
Alt
Verse
Quinyon Mitchell
Fashanu
Latham
Arnold
Latu

How many of these would you move up for?

I beg to differ on the no really good DBs remark.  But I do agree Howie will be too tempted by an OL talent over a CB.

Why Marvin Harrison Jr. missing Ohio State’s pro day won’t affect his NFL Draft stock

I get it.  He'll likely be the first non-QB off the board and surely go in the top 5, but declining to take part at The Combine and declining again to take part in his Pro Day wouldn't sit too well with me if I was running an NFL franchise.  If he doesn't impress during a top 30 visit, how likely would I be to look at my scouts/coaches and say "Are we sure there isn't another WR prospect we should be looking at?"

Especially if you're the Arizona Cardinals.  You already have an enigma/headache as your QB and face of the franchise.  I'd probably do some serious thinking about having both those guys together in the same locker room.

should be the starter.  but then the Eagles got a bunch of other ILBs.  And Eagles fans somehow didn't realize that the Eagles just got a bunch of new ILBs,  and want more ILBs.

Maybe Eagles fans think that there will be 4 starting ILBs this year.  Maybe they think that all the OLBs who play the one OLB spot can't also play ILB.

If VanSumeren plays,  he'll be good.  I'm pissed that the Eagles are filling the ILB room to the brim, and VanSumeren,  because he's not expensive and famous enough for Eagles fans, is less likely to get snaps.

Yeah,  Landon can sit.   Or we can forget that Steen was drafted to play RG just last year with a 3rd round pick.  Either way,  your suggestion is very smart and not at all pointless and wasteful.

So I expect that he will replace Devin White.

I haven't read back on old posts today, anyone share the piece by Arif Hasan on the downfall of The Draft Network?? Kind of crazy stuff, really goes into detail why that site completely crashed and burned. Does have a paywall, but if you’re remotely interested it’s worth the $7 to read it. Besides, Arif is a quality journalist so worth sticking around for more of his content.

I wish I saved the video to share with you guys but I across a Tik Tok last night where a 49ers fan believes Eagles downfall is happening partly because we lost Jack Driscoll to the Dolphins. This is a loose interpretation of his words that I remember "The Eagles have just lost Jack Driscoll to the Dolphins, an offensive lineman who was a starter for 17 games over 4 seasons for the Eagles, this is after losing Jason Kelce but the downfall of the Eagles is finally happening and I am so here for it”

look maybe there’s a potential downfall but thinking it’s happening because we lost Jack Driscoll had me laughing so hard last night

I read until it wouldn't let me anymore.

TDN has posted messages in the past about being in a legal battle to keep their domain name out something like that.

They came back online a few months ago after having added no content to their site since last draft.

At that time they brought back their draft game just a little before the draft after another long period of down time.

They've had 2 now.

And currently,  though they're still putting out articles their draft game hasn't come online this year yet. Supposedly it will but I wouldn't bet on it.

Does the article say if they will eventually get it under control? It's still the best draft simulator online.  When it exists.

Here are the OT's they have showed interest in so far:

OT Kiran Amegadjie (Yale) -- Indy Combine (formal)
OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma) -- Senior Bowl, Official Visit
OT Michael Jerrell (Findlay) -- Hula Bowl

OT Jordan Morgan (Arizona) -- Indy Combine (formal)
OT Patrick Paul (Houston) -- Senior Bowl (formal)

OT Roger Rosengarten (Washington) -- Indy Combine (formal)

Only Guyton, out of that list, is a projected first round pick.  Kiran, Morgan and Paul are in PFF's top 100.

OT/OG Brandon Coleman (TCU) -- Official Visit

OG Cooper Beebe (Kansas State) -- Official Visit
OG Christian Haynes (Connecticut) -- Indy Combine (formal)
OG Christian Mahogany (Boston College) -- East-West Shrine Bowl, Official Visit
OG Zak Zinter (Michigan) -- Official Visit

PFF has a 2nd round grade on Haynes.  They have the others as 3rd  to 5th.

My guess is that they don't think they want to move up for one of the top OT's.  I think day 2 may be where they target OL.

Patrick Paul is an athletic monster ala Maiata at 6'7" and 331 with over 36" arms. His knock is technique-based, and we got Stoutland U to enroll him in. Would not be upset at all with him in R2.

Yeah.  I don't really think Guyton is a 1st rounder either.

Article pretty much says how their CEO Paige Dimakos was once what the company needed during the sites hay day but has essentially run the company into the ground. The legal battles are payments they haven’t made to companies running their mock draft machine & other aspects of the site, those companies have since sued TDN, also TDN has been late on paying their content creators or not paying at all, Dimakos would straight up ghost anyone she owed money too, Dimakos doing smear campaigns on writers that decided to leave, not giving their content creators any direction on what to do on draft events & making them use their own money for hotels etc, using their female reporters to flirt with prospects to gain interviews, all these big money woes while Dimakos was traveling to Greece/Mexico/other travel destinations. Craziest one is during the 2022 or 2023 draft, whichever one was in Vegas, they rented a house in Vegas for their draft headquarters. Unbeknownst to them, it was a sex house used to film porn & where people could hire sex workers. All the draft guys had to rush to hide sex toys & cover sex murals with cloth before prospects came over for interviews like Malik Willis. They even walked him to the bathroom to make sure there wasn’t anything sex related he might see. Lmao. Some of the draft guys slept in the closest, on the floor, one was hanging out by a pool and spotted a massive bag of cocaine that was forgotten.

all in all, the story was nuts. But story predicts TDN is about to be no more. Their CEO had a warrant out for her arrest because of legal trouble at one point, and owes a ton of money to people.

Didn't realize they had visit with Coleman.. I've been putting him in many of my mock drafts.  Was a top 100 recruit coming out of High School came into combine at 6 foot 5 313 pounds and ran a 4.99 40 with 34 vert and 114 broad.   Pretty sure Stout can do something with that
