That's true, but I was just pointing out that the much bigger resume, is pretty tiny.

He was the first backup outside his 1st two seasons. Last year he had all his camp work and preseason (until he got injured) as the nickel. I have nothing against Hall or the signing. He seems like a good player to have in camp. But the "grass is always greener" stuff is effecting opinions here a bit. McPhearson may have fewer snaps and less time preparing to play Nickel, but has a lot more familiarity with the team and coaches. To presume Hall has some sort of edge is wishful thinking. 

It's always good to add competition and hopefully there's a fierce battle in camp for the nickel role. It will be interesting to watch.

On another note I think people are underestimating how much impact the Eagles are expecting Saquan Barkley to have. They didn’t pay him what they did just to slightly upgrade what they had. He’ll be a centerpiece of O

McPhearson tore his Achilles. Based on what he’s shown so far and his inexperience at slot, we should be operating as if he doesn’t exist. The odds are long that he can be a decent slot.

If you look at the numbers at CB and the real chance they'll use a high pick one then several guys have to go and he's likely to be one

I don't really know what to make of this Hall signing.  Guy could be legit.  But until that signing I had been starting to feel more and more that they might draft a nickel before they draft an outside guy. 

Bradberry is still here and Rodgers may be an outside guy. 

Maddox is a free agent and can't be relied on so they really had no one. 

Nickel seems to be the bigger need.  Unless Hall fixed that.  I'm not sure.

I'm sure it must have been the career ending type of tear. You know ... the kind that always happens in Negadelphia. 

 

I have no idea what the future holds for Zech. Players can often return to full activities in 6-9 months after the injury. He's likely already 100% healed. It's up to him to play well enough to make the team.
