Ok I love the Barkley deal

Would you trade down in the first, if possible, and select Cooper at the end of the first?

Definitely not.

in the 20-30 range you can get a legitimate starting OT, CB or impact WR.

No one is upset. The deal is absolutely nothing. You can still not like the player, especially at this stage of his career. Both things can be true.

Agreed.   The deal is absolutely nothing.  So, its not about cost.    It's about as good a deal as you can get.   They get to kick his tires... if he sucks, as people think, he's gone before the season.    If he's not... then either he shows out (unlikely) or the Eagles failed to address WR3 (more plausible) and have left themselves in the same pickle they've been in before.

Where's Greg Ward these days?

EXCELLENT!!!

now,  what do I need to do to provide a picture instead of a link?

Tyreek Hill-like player.    Hill is much faster, 40/20/10.  And much better shuttle and 3 cone.   shorter and lighter and worse bench.

Neither is what you want on DL if you care about run defense.

The NFL has had Cornerback blitzes and Safety blitzes for a long time,  so, it's known that small players can sack.

So,  you have 3 big players on the DL in a 3-4,  2 of those DL are playing the edge,  and between the edges,  there are a bunch of different guys rotating, pass rushing.  And  one of them might have a 6.53 3 cone and a 4.29 40, but those numbers are very rare.

You don't need huge OLB to defend against the run and set an edge.  Reddick does fine in run defense.

I like looking back at 2024 NFL mock drafts before the college season starts.. Some interesting names

There's something about ITB that really bothered me and I just recently figured out what it is. They don't break nearly enough stories to have the graphic of their show two people on their phones like they're Adam Schefter.

I can't believe they have a Patreon people pay money to

I mean Adam Caplan's mom is probably the only member.

I wonder how many organizations operate like this. Wouldn't have worked out either way, but how do you not just get the highest rated guys on your board regardless of position? Could've just drafted AJ Brown(well, a small move up for him).

Campbell theoretically is the type of WR I was expecting to target at WR3 (not saying he will be the WR3). Moore has used a lot of jet sweeps, and that’s not really a thing Smith and Brown are good at. Campbell used to be fast so he can be a vertical slot, if injuries haven’t sapped him.

The really stupid thing is all of that should have been decided before the draft. It just makes no sense for there to be an argument or fight over two players at the same position while on the clock.

Or DK Metcalf. How you look at him, then JJAW and choose the slow unauthentic uncoordinated one is beyond me.

Statistically, it's hard for me to wrap my head around exactly what the Eagles have in mind with that Barkley signing.  Both Sanders and Swift were productive, given their roles and workload:

2022 Sanders -- 259 carries, 1,269 yards (4.9 ypr).  Wanted to come back; Eagles didn't want to pay him 4 years at $6.4M per season

2023 Swift -- 229 carries, 1,049 yards (4.6 ypr).  Local guy you'd figure would want to come back; Eagles didn't want to pay 3 years at $8M per season

2024 Barkley -- 4.0 yards per carry over the past 4 seasons.  Eagles paying him $13M/yr for two seasons, or $37.75M for 3 seasons

I've been reading on here Barkley is better in pass pro.  Okay, but I'm not sure I want to pay an extra $5M+ per year for the RB to block well.  Are the Eagles expecting a 300 carry, 1,500 yards impact?  It's been joked on here that Hurts will be stealing all of his red zone TDs, but that begs the serious question how impactful will Barkley be in the red zone?  For me, Barkley's impact has to be keeping the ball out of Hurts' hands in the ground game.  Take all of the heavy carries away from Hurts so he isn't absorbing any physical punishment.  He's not a power back per se, but that is an impact I feel he could have.

Schematically, he also has to threaten defenses to the extent it takes coverage away from AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith because defenses have to allocate attention to Saquon.  Can he have that impact on a game?  I doubt it.

A healthy Barkley is a top 3 RB in the NFL. He is really, REALLY talented. He was also in an absolutely horrendous situation with the Giants. Garbage WB, garbage OL, garbage receivers… he was basically their entire offense.

If he’s healthy — and it IS a question — I think he can be an all pro level player here with our OL and passing attack.

He was moved down their board because of medicals.

Every time the Eagles make a pick that goes horribly wrong I always wonder if they just didn't evaluate well or if there was some bad process behind it. Like the owner who knows nothing about evaluating players saying "I want that guy!"

If I were an owner I would 100 percent make at least one pick in the draft.

He's 100% going to be Moore's jet sweep guy. Moore loves jet sweeps. Will be refreshing to see them with Sirianni never using them, but Chargers fans complained he loved them a little too much. Like calling jet sweeps on 3rd and 5+'s mulitple times throughout the season. Apparently the jet sweep to him is the bubble screen to Sirianni if you believe Chargers fans.

Hopefully in the 7th round. Owners should let the football guys they pay make the player choices.

Because they medically flagged his neck.

But that doesn't excuse JJAW over Diontae Johnson/Terry McLaurin.

Maybe. It would depend on my mood and whatever Just Bombs highlights video I just watched.
