Something of note about Reddick that I'm not sure if anyone brought up yet. Apparently, the Eagles and Reddick agreed to push his 1m bonus back weeks ago. So when the news broke over the past week that they pushed it back everyone was like oh man that probably means he's getting traded soon. But it's been reported they agreed to that before free agency started, it just wasn't reported until a few days ago.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

His allegations were pretty bad, so this makes sense. I wonder if they make a play for Sneed now. Also a team that could trade up in the 1st for a CB.

Not that Slay is the CB that needs to be traded, but I wonder what Detroit would give for a reunion. They want to keep their defense strong and Slay could be a big help. Also no idea what the cap implications are.

I'm on a wait and see approach. Everyone blames coaches, who for sure had a major hand in everything, but players should be held accountable as well. It's safe to say Fangio and Moore are upgrades on the coaching staff but I'm still on the fence with Sirianni. I'm not sold on him just being a Cheerleader coach and I think he and Moore might bump heads at some point. It just feels very 2020 to me with Doug and trying to change his offense. If I had to guess, he's not the long term HC of this team.

On the players side, I think the loss of Kelce and Cox is understated. I don't think it will be a smooth transition replacing them. Also what happens with Reddick changes the defensive outlook. On top of that, they are bringing in a lot of new players. I think it will take some time to gel as a unit, especially on the defensive side of the ball. I would be surprised if they jump hot out of the gate like the last two years. Also still worried about playing Bradberry/Slay a year older, but let's see if that changes between now and Week 1.

If we do trade Reddick for a pick would you then go after Clowney?

Versatility is not to be taken lightly with RR he was just trying to compare a college WR to Reddick

somebody who is not me put reddick vs tyreek hill in the much beloved ras compare.  we don't have tyreek hill and we're not getting tyreek hill and if we did it would be too risky/costly to have tyreek hill actually rush the passer.  But tyreek hill is a great set of numbers to use to illustrate the point.

It's almost a cliche at this point to say that a 350 pound LT or RT might have trouble against "todays faster edge rushers".   Like "oh,  Mims should be good but he might have trouble against faster edge rushers".   If a 350 pound RT like Mims would have trouble against faster edge rushers,  if you took someone who is even faster and quicker and more "bendy" (3 cone) and put him against Mims (or any other 350+ pounder) and see if the lack of a quick first step by the giant Tackle will show up even more against an even faster,  short and fast pass rusher who is also a rb or wr or cb or s.

The Eagles have a lot of LBs - OLB/edge,  ILB who could play edge - who have great numbers for RB/FB.  I'm generally in favor of finding ways for D to contribute on O,  and it's not as easy to do the same,  with putting O on D,  but I think that it could work, maybe, by seeing if the small fast O can pass rush between the big DL edges.  Not saying this happens all the time,  not saying that players are moved away from where they were.   But I'm saying that if giant OLs have problems with fast 230-240 pound edges running 4.4-4.5,  they could have greater problems with short, solidly built, fast and bendy players on offense.

Of course, the $64K question is how did a freak like him end up at a JUCO? Character, dumber than a doorknob or both?

totally forgot about him. I watched this video about him a couple months back. Cant even remember where I heard of him initially.

If he's at Lackawanna, Eagles could have him in for their locals pro day and not have it count as a pre-draft visit.

Something tells me Howie has a blockbuster trade left in him and wants draft compensation first (2nd rounder and or multiple picks) from Reddick deal and use for a Patrick Surtain trade. $16M freed up by trading Reddick can go a long way. Do that and sign Simmons and this defense is looking significantly improved. Of course both have played for Fangio and played together.  Believe we still have more fireworks left to this offseason. Reddick could be the first domino here...

NFLrums is a fake account like that Wesley Steinberg. Block it and move on. They post constant made up and fake rumors for click bait.

So are they better or worse than Adam Caplan.

I don't think the trade frees up the money.

That was the same sentiment around here in 2007 with "We’re fine there” and "I’ve gotta do a better job”.

When we’re losing it’s annoying, and when when we’re winning it’s fine

Slightly different situations. Those Andy quotes were in PC's to media. I'm not sure that was the message he was relaying behind closed doors. I fully believe Sirianni is constantly relaying the core values to the team since it's everywhere from the practice facilities to the what the players themselves say.

I do agree winning solves a lot. But the coach also needs to freshen up his message or it will end up getting lost regardless.

Fits the sort of guy we have seen Howie take a flyer on late in the draft. I’m thinking Bryce Brown and Jordan Mailata.

Epilepsy was part of it.

Alabama, didn't play in a game.  Colorado,  didn't play in a game, a community college in Kansas,  didn't play in a game.  There was a epilepsy diagnosis,  epilepsy medication.   And, in 2023,  he did have 4 sacks for Lackawanna Juco.

Saban said that he just stopped showing up,  stopped going to classes,  this was back in 2019.

It doesn't, it's a sunk cost. And the Broncos per Denver reporters aren't trading Surtain.

I suspect, both.

His history is a strange one - committed to LSU last year

But this mentions nothing of that transfer

Okay. I just saw they only save $16M if it's a  post June 1st trade. Pre-June 1st, they only save $1.2M. But Simmons cost is most likely plummeting as we speak. Surtain could be extended and wouldn't cost much for this year. Howie could probably pull it off anyway, even with very little Reddick savings.

Siranni turned around a 4-11-1 team in one season and got them to the SB the next season. I doubt he's the doofus some try to make him out to be.

Of course he's going to have input into the offense, but you don't bring in someone like Moore unless you're willing to make major changes.

As bad as last year finished, they were still a top ten offense.

As bad as last year finished, they were NOT a top 10 offense in the final half of the season during their collapse.
