Anonymous ST coaches were complaining yesterday that there were going to be more KRs for a TD this year due to that setup.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Disagree.  I realize Jurgens was picked to be a center, but he's a really good guard.  If you move him from G to C you weaken two positions.  It may still be the best option, but If I were Siri, I'd explore a few options before making a decision.

Nah.  Jurgens is a natural center who was playing out of position at guard.

But, that comment isn't the genesis of my assessment.   It is the culmination of all his interactions with media, fans, etc.  He's an emotional guy, but he's no tactician.  And he puts way too much emphasis on 'competitive advantage'.  Funny thing, the best coaches don't worry about competitive advantage like that, and to just scheme up a great play and execute the crap out of it, so that it doesn't matter if the opponent knows what's coming or not... they still can't stop it.   (I give you the Power Sweep from Vince Lombardi as exhibit A.  He made his reputation on that play... and actually taught exactly what they were doing on the play, while still destroying oppositions with it.)

Imagine Sirianni at the chalkboard.

Those comments from Siri about Jurgens are very non-committal in general about the O when you hear him talking vs  the X summary of it.  Not as bad as it comes across

Jurgens is going to be the center.  Who cares if Nick doesn't confirm it in March.

Not that big a deal.

Why does he have to make this difficult? Jurgens was picked, with the help of Jason Kelce, to be Kelce's successor. He's not a RG. This doesn't have to be a secret.

He's a moron.

I hate sirianni and also think he is a moron, but I don't really get the purpose of asking him about roster stuff this far out because this is the only answer that's going to come out of it. He doesn't even answer obvious questions in-season, idk what they expected 5 months away.

They have to ask something.

I get some don't like Sirianni but people will look for any little thing to complain about him.

Results to me are all that matter.  Not press conferences or interviews.

If the team struggles again then he'll be out.

I suppose, but I'd ask about the draft or something because like you said his dedication to gamesmanship/competitive advantage is over the top ridiculous so might as well ask about something right around the corner rather than 5 months away.

. You think he'd be forth coming with that?

It's all subjective. His pressers are more annoying than Andy's were because while Andy never really said much of anything either ("we're fine there") he at least never seemed to be trying to make himself the smartest guy in the room.

It's all personal preference, I don't like his coaching personality so his pressers and GameDay antics annoy the ever living crap out of me.

Like I said, he wouldn't be forthcoming about anything. But at least the draft is within the next month and somewhat relevant. No coach is going to answer a question about the roster in 5 months when there's an impending draft that could change anything

Probably because of the draft.  Show some interest in C's  Maybe a team makes a move to grab someone ahead of us in later rounds.  Far fetched probably but makes sense to not give a definitive

Watching the video of the incident this morning, kind of mad how the ship just kept going straight on.  I can't believe it was intentional, but also a pretty avoidable incident from a long way away.

It looks like the power went out on the ship.

Likely true.   So, why have the presser at all?

The bigger issue is that his answers say nothing, but take a million words to do so.  Just say the same thing, but in fewer words.

Which would make sense. But with a ship that big, can't work out why it was even steering that way on a busy shipping lane - but more facts will come out in the coming days.

Sadly, the usual idiots are creating conspiracy theories about Black Swan events and terrorism... Sometimes, accidents happen

And I'm guessing a ship that size needs the engines to steer it in any meaningful way, no?

The only way Jurgens isn't a starting C is if we draft on early.

Best five guys, worry about positions later.

What do you guys think of Josh Proctor?  Doesn't seem to get a lot of love in the Safety rankings

Tested pretty well 6 foot 2 199 pounds.  4.55 40 time.  is older at 24 years.  had 1 INT and 8 PD's this year.  Was a top 50 prospect coming out of H.S.

Do onside kicks no longer exist or would they just revert to the old formation when a team wants to attempt one?
