Just joking around isn't an excuse and you can't dismiss this type of behavior. Perception is key as well, if Lurie is so obsessed with optics than this is a problem.

It's bad enough that a majority of NFL fans see Eagles fans as neanderthals, and actions like this just solidify their argument.

The fact that you have your 25yo QB1 trying to get his 42yo HC coach to focus is a problem.

Like I said, the bigger issue is the stuff that he does poorly on the football field.  The stuff he does around the field, yelling at fans, flipping off opponents during timeouts, to me they pale in comparison to the incompetence as a coach.

I hated the pick. What do you think the ceiling is for Jordan Davis? IMO, at best, he plays 50% of the snaps and gets double teamed while occasionally making a tackle.

Give me the All-Pro safety who plays 100% of the snaps and the picks used to trade up instead of Davis.

You were definitely in the minority at the time then.

And like I said, jury is still out.  He’s shown flashes of brilliance over several games this season.   It’s a matter of being consistent, healthy, etc with him, imo.

Yea, you clearly have no idea how the Eagles operate

Doubtful.  Good chance he would have been gone after the first time he said, "No, I won’t”

Just a guess.

I salute you for saying media are. Bravo.

I'm not as dumb as my posts usually look.

Davis has Dexter Lawrence potential based on size, strength and athleticism. That’s the ceiling. Obviously he’s a long ways from that. Lawrence plays a ton of snaps and has a great motor.

That's because he's not an Eagles fan. He's just a moron.

Any announcement of Desai or Patricia or other assistants being let go will mean Sirianni is staying.

If Sirianni is fired, the other coaches organically would usually be gone without saying because a new head coach would want to bring their own assistants.

There will absolutely be a notification made to Adam Schefter or another insider who will break the news if its been determined he's coming back.

Everyone needs to chill about Davis.

A.  The jury is still out on Davis

B. Everyone and I mean everyone loved the pick at the time. (Local media, national media and most fans)

You're right, the jury is still out, but he's also been next to invisible for 2 years and continues to get fined for being a fat F.

I'm in favor of the Davis pick.  All 4 DTs were in the top 1/4 PFF this year.  Davis is quite rare physically.   You can't get a Davis type every year.

Anybody remember Davis chasing down Josh Allen this year in the win over the Bills?

:offtopic: This is ridiculous.

Yep.  That should tell most all they need to know about Davis.  He’s more than capable of becoming special at the NFL level. It’s a matter of putting the work in, being consistent and healthy when it comes to Davis, imo.

To be fair Hamilton probably would've blown in this system anyhow.

Davis is an overweight JAG and Dean is an injury prone Smurf.

Though I don't trust what this defensive staff does either I'm not sure about that, Hamilton plays really well in the slot and we have no one there. I'm sure he would've done something good here in this miserable back 7. I also think he would be a plus for the future too. But I'm not a Davis hater I'm hoping he seriously learned some lessons this year.

What do you think about Davis in a RB role ?

The Eagles use their DTs half the game.   Carter sucks too I guess in your world.

Every DT was top quarter.

Every CB but 1 (Slay) was bottom half.

This is a good year to take CBs.

He has. We can all point to the Josh Allen play and how impressive that was. I've been pretty vocal about my thoughts on high picks used on DL that don't play a lot. You have a top 15 pick, that doesn't happen often. You traded multiple picks to get there. The guy you pick there needs to be an impact player. He needs to be a core piece of your team that can change a game. More importantly, he needs to be on the damn field.

Fletcher Cox played 52% of the snaps as a rookie after being picked #12. After that, he averaged 74% of the snaps the rest of his career with multiple years being over 80% of the snaps played.

Jalen Carter played 51% his rookie year and he has the same potential as Cox and I expect him to take a huge jump in year 2 like Fletcher did when he jumped to 74%.

Jordan Davis however, played 26% last year and 45% this year. I think 50% is his max. He "transformed his body" for year 2 and 45% of the snaps wore him down. Do you think he's got that much more to change on his 6-6 336 lb frame? Can he get in that much better of shape? He never did at UGA and there's no reason to think he's going to suddenly start playing 20 more snaps a game.

To me, and it's just my opinion, trading up to pick 13 for a guy who MIGHT play half the snaps is a terrible use of a 1st round pick. If he's playing half the snaps, he needs to make a much, much bigger impact than he has.

Give me the All-Pro safety who doesn't come off the field or trade down for George Karlaftis at pick 30 who already has 18.5 sacks and plays over 70% of the snaps.

Davis at the time was known to be a project.  Everyone acknowledged that it was a risk/reward type pick.  It was already known he had conditioning issues in college and he didn't play all the downs for Georgia.  Still, there wasn't much complaint about the pick then.  His rookie year, people were complaining that he wasn't getting enough snaps.  He was a run stuffer, and fans complained the run game suffered when he wasn't playing.  They wanted more Davis snaps.

I think the issue is they traded up for him and gave up 3 picks.  You expect more, a guy like Carter.

There were a lot of problems on defense this year: coaching, LBs, safeties, corners, lack of another starting DE opposite Slay ("It's the whole team!").  I want to see what Davis looks like with new coaching, some serious offseason conditioning and some LBs who aren't a joke.

The thing is, he did serious conditioning last year to get in shape for year 2 and he still couldn't finish a season playing less than half the snaps. How much more in shape can he get at his size?

Fletcher Cox in his prime was playing 80% of the snaps. That's what I expect to see from Jalen Carter moving forward, and no I don't think he sucks based off of his snap counts. As a rookie, he played the same amount as Fletcher Cox. His impact was huge the first half of the year. If a guy is playing 50% of the snaps however, I expect him to make a big impact during those snaps. Davis is not doing that.

I don't know.  Hopefully the conditioning folks at NovaCare will be on the case.  Howie knew this when he drafted him.

This year's snap counts at DT, they are rotating all of them.

Hamilton wasn't considered too serious for us because of our well know "philosophy". But Hamilton was arguably the best player on the board when we traded up. I know Jeremiah had him rated as the higher prospect and Hamilton just made the pro bowl.
