Feel strongly that some team would give us a 2025 2nd at the NFL trade deadline.

Once they start the season with him, he'll finish the season with them unless he's playing horribly, which his trade value would plummet anyway. If he's with them during the season and he's playing really way and racking up sacks, they aren't going to trade him. Unless the team absolutely sucks for whatever reason and is headed nowhere and they become sellers.

Kind of an interesting Dline option unfolding. Lots of rotational pieces on the interior and edge. It looked like the D lost that element last year -- the use of rotation to keep DL players fresh. Too often the DL looked gassed. Having Smith, Huff and Reddick fresh all game could be interesting twist to this season given the right kind of play calling (more stunts and joker IMHO).

Bo and Zach mentioned earlier Sirianni had a chance to commit to Steen today and kinda danced around questions about him being a guard. They are speculating the Eagles may either be down on him or at the very least don't have him penciled in as a starter at guard.

Except it's the time of year where misdirection is normal, if they think he's the RG they don't want teams to know it, b/c it means they might not take an OG, but if they seem his as an OT, they want teams to think they might take an OT. Games within games.

Just use the free trials available out there.  Peacock will likely offer one, if not, Amex offers them.

It seems that he lost part of the locker room during the collapse.

The only scenario I could see him staying if they don't make the playoffs is if there are major injuries.  The reality is that there's no reason this team shouldn't have played better during the end of the season.  They looked unprepared and poorly coached at the end of the year.

They looked tired and worn out during the end of the season.

Hurts, Goedert, Smith and Brown were all injured.  Smith and Brown led the NFL in snaps as a WR duo.

The Eagles would have been healthier and more able to win in the playoffs if they had not had their entire offense revolving around Brown and Smith, or, even if they did,  if they had Brown and Smith playing the amount of snaps a WR like Tyreek Hill did.

Saquon in studio with Travis and Jason is proxy? that’s really odd. I don't think he’s ever conducted a non-Chiefs interview solo like that

Maybe they were coincidentally both in a certain locale like New York, and that’s how we got him on the show so fast

Disappointing. He wasn't that bad last year!

I still believe Steen was drafted with the expectation that Driscoll would be leaving in free agency and Steen would be here for 3 more seasons to be a versatile backup. I believe they will draft an IOL in round 1 or 2 this year to find their next RG.

right now, the Eagles are spending a lot of money on edge rushers.   There are 3 rushers for 2 starting spots.  Either something will be different with the defense,  or one of the expensive edge rushers will go,  or the Eagles are spending too much money on edge rushers.

The "something will be different with the defense" could be to use the OLB edge rushers as off ball LBs,  or otherwise pass rush from between the edges.

4th option is using the LBs - OLB, ILB,  basically the same size guys - on offense as run blockers.   The run blockers at WR and RB were bad last year. Less likely option.

You believe that they spent pick #65 on a guy to be a backup?    That was plan A?    If that's true, they should fire the lot of them.  But, I don't think that was their intention at all.

If anything, that indicates they're looking at OL early in the draft and wanna let that guy compete for the job. Howie mentioned recently they can't afford for early round rookies to essentially redshirt anymore.

Think it's more a matter that average RBs have good seasons behind this OL, so why overpay for an incremental improvement.

Look at all the RBs who had big jumps here, then disappointed once they left.

If you think Barkley's an elite RB who can impact the game as a runner, receiver and blocker, that's a different matter.

Who are "all the RBs" to whom you refer?

Steen only played starter reps in one game this past season; why on Earth would Sirianni commit to him as a 3rd round pick?  Dean shouldn’t have been made an unchallenged starter last season, and Steen shouldn’t be above competition this year

If you look at the mock drafts that people are doing here this year,  you will find a lot of people who have OL in the 1st round or 2nd round.

If the Eagles were to do that,  where would that person play?

Let's say Steen was the RG.  And he was good.  The Eagles would have Good+ starters at all 5 positions.   And a first rounder waiting for what?  Lane to retire?  And then the Eagles have a bunch of fans here clamoring for Lane to retire because why is a 1st round pick sitting foreever.

The Eagles could fill their OL room with combine winners who were drafted on day 3 or udfas.   Eagles fans would not be clamoring for the day 3 players to play.   But Eagles fans want valuable assets to spend on a position where no assets need to be spent.

If Lane retired, and no quality RT was on the roster,  the Eagles could simply draft in the first round a Right Tackle.  He might not be great at the beginning of the year, but he'd become good.  Or,  they could take that money they were spending on Lane and sign an expensive and good Right Tackle.   There is no reason why a first round draft pick really needs to be on the Eagles right now,  waiting for Lane to retire.   Unless they're planning on using him as a blocking TE until Lane needs replaced.

If the Eagles are drafting an OL in the first round,  they're probably drafting a player who can start at RG and move to RT.   A first round Right Tackle should in many cases be able to start.   So,   you have some sort of competition week 1 at RG.  Let's say Steen.  Then maybe first round draft pick takes over midseason.  Then Steen becomes swing tackle.  Maybe first round pick becomes swing tackle, and stays swing tackle (and blocking TE if it's on the resume and maybe even if not) and Steen stays at RB.

I like the idea of fully stocked OL room, but I like Tylan Grable (2 days,  Big 12 pro day) UCF,   Like Lane,  QB in HS,  TE early college,  OT to finish.  Day 3. Combine winner. No expectations for him to take someones spot.  How about him, and another one like him,  mostly in that he's day 3 and there are no expectation for him to take someones spot,   just strong backups like there is a strong starting ol.

Has Lane really taken a mentorship role over Tyler Guyton (OK)?   It might be a great honor for Lane to be able to pick his replacement,  but if I was Lane,  I'd rather get some TDs.  Let Lane take the snap on the Shove and run for the TD, or throw or catch a pass.

Somewhat interesting.    Both Tylan Grable and Tyler Guyton have similar names,  similar resumes.   Both were TEs in college.  Both transferred. Guyton is slightly bigger and slightly worse combine.  And this one I just found out.

Both were Honorable Mention All Big 12.   That's pretty similar. Apples to Apples.   Guyton is currently at 28 on mock draft database.  Grable is currently at 265.

Siri wouldn't commit to Jurgens at center.

He avoided every question, including softballs.  I'm not sure if he would have committed to Barkley starting at RB or Lane at RT if they asked him.

Maybe Sirianni knows who his center is going to be🤣

The only way the Eagles are getting a 2nd for Reddick is if they kick in a mid round pick.

Was going for an afternoon walk around the neighborhood near me and ran into Zach Ertz. That was pretty cool.

Gross. The leak seems to be true.

With how his "will he, won’t he” years and the way his retirement went down this year, he just doesn’t seem like the type of guy that will do a 180. I think he’s done and people should respect his decision instead of trying to make him second guess himself. Not you, just in general.
