I don't blame teams for not wanting to give a 2 for Reddick AND pay him 25M+/Y.

That's why the trade deadline is the time to do it. Teams are more likely to give up picks and won't worry about paying half his salary.

Zero chance they trade him at the deadline

Meh.... Clowney is a journeyman for a while now. I don't think this has any bearing on the Reddick situation.

If Rosenberg goes to be a GM somewhere,  is he black?

Would have liked to take a chance on him in the later rounds but can't see that happening now with 4 QBs on the roster already

He's so white if he gets a GM job I think we actually owe comp picks to that team.

He's just one year older coming off 9.5 sacks. Reddick has been the better player as of late but his ask of $15M more per year than Clowney? I don't think he's been that much better.

It helps his trade value because Clowney's off of the market.

If Jewish people are only 2.4% of the American population, how come teams don't get compensated with compensatory picks if they get hired away for a promotion? Does the NFL not consider Jewish people minorities?

Me thinks the Rooney Rule itself isn't as "inclusive" as it needs to be in a league that claims to value 'DEI'

I wonder if he goes higher than expected given his arm strength.

Maybe but I think Burns and Snead pretty much torched all of that

I agree, but they should. That's when pass-rushers have recently gotten the most value. Von Miller was 32 when he was traded for a 2 & a 3.

It wouldn't depend for you on how the season is going? What if the Eagles are 8-1 and Reddick has 12 sacks and leads the NFL? You'd give up your best pass rusher in a year where your team looks like it could potentially make or win the Super Bowl?

I think it would depend more on how the younger players are developing. I do agree with your point though I couldn't see Howie trading Reddick in that scenario.

You aren't thinking with a 2024 mindset my friend. He IDENTIFIES as black. Bring on the 3rd rounders!

To me, it wouldn't matter unless it was a totally unrealistic ungodly offer like multiple first round picks. You only get so many bites at the Super Bowl apple. If the Eagles are in position to win one and the season is trending like they have a good chance and Reddick is playing great, trading their best defensive player would be an insane decision and borderline sabotage.

In this scenario, we're all pretty happy! Clearly you would keep him at that point.

If we're 500 or less, then yes sell him. You can sell a player and not tank on the season.

This one worked out pretty well.  Didn't trade any future picks.

What if he has five or six and is that more likely?

After peaking in 2022, Reddick overvalued himself after an absolute collapse of a 2nd half of a season in 2023 by the team. Which kind of devalues everyone. Add his injury and inconsistency and he should just hush it and stay put for this last year and hope for a superbowl. Later we go into offseason here, the more leverage he loses. As very few teams can accommodate him after blowing their load in free agency. Howie isn't budging. And he shouldn't. 2nd rounder or bust!
