I don’t disagree, it’s kinda what we always do. High pick on lineman’s, just not sure I can stomach the first pick being a Olineman who’s a backup. Secondary needs help.

I can't either. However, Fautanu, to me, could be a pro bowl guard. I guess with all things considered, I could live with that. I covet Mitchell or Arnold but it will take a pretty high trade up to land one which means you have to give up a 2nd rounder. I'm not sure I want to do that, yet.

I think everyone expected a much better time from him.

You can only have void years up to 5 years.

So you’re telling me we average 70m in dead cap each of the next 4 years? That doesn’t sound right

You can only have void years up to 4 years after the end of the contract, right?

So you’re telling me we average 90m in dead cap each of the next 4 years? That doesn’t sound right

Howie and Berry/Raiche crushing it.

The eagles execs doing it differently from the rest of the league. Suddenly, with that front office, Cleveland is pretty darn good too.

Technically, you can only have up to 4 void years

Quote

Since a bonus can be prorated over a maximum of five seasons, the highest number of void years that can be added to a contract is five minus the number of years left on the contract the player is currently on.

So 87.5 per year.

Mind you, Jalen Hurts accounts for $97,553,000 of that, and that hit is in 2029.  So it's much lower than the 87.5 million per year over 4.  (63.125 million)

Yeah I said that originally and then edited it, because while any individual player can only have 4 years, we have 5 years on this chart by counting the players who are no longer on the team, right?

Ok, if you are counting this year (Kelce, Cox, etc), you are correct.  But then divide by six to account for Hurts.   ($58.33)

He's just going to be a solid NFL player. No idea where he should be drafted.

Things fell beautifully in this one

Sure. No one’s saying otherwise. Just that there are inherent, minor problems with having that luxury like being an attractive spot for free agent receivers. No one seems to like the Parker/Campbell additions but that’s the type of WR’s you have to realistically expect.

I like the Campbell addition.   weapony wr/rb with a 4.31 40 sounds good to me.  Campbell's yards per carry in the NFL 9.8.  Good by me.

I would've rather had Zaccheaus than Campbell.

Why?  Let’s put the injuries aside.  Campbell and Nick know each other.  Campbell is faster, has better hands, and is bigger.  OZ was a challenge for Hurts in the slot because of his size.  Rather have Campbell.

Not sure they will look at CB in Day 2 - maybe Day 3, if someone drops a little. Feels like they want to chuck many low cost darts or vets at that position.  I'd be interested  to see if they trade for a CB in and around the draft.  I suspect next year will see some movement at CB

I wouldn’t blink an eye if they grabbed Melton in the second.

That's a pretty big issue

Why would he be a thirty when they can have him in as a local?

Second round

Reddick, Sweat, Huff, Smith, and Baun and yet so many people are taking an edge player in their mock drafts. I get everything isn't about immediate need but it's not like there's a bunch of edge players who could be great value picks at 22. I'd be really surprised if they didn't go OL or CB.

Reddick is actively being shopped, Sweat is as good as gone next year, and Huff/Smith have yet to prove to be full-time impact pass rushers. It's not a crazy idea that Howie drafts an edge rusher he loves his lines. I don't like the edge rushers this draft having said that and hope we go o-line or CB.

Maybe if it was a good draft for edge rushers but it isn't so yeah I think it's a borderline crazy idea. Their last three first round picks have been on the DL, at some point they have to address other areas too.

Agreed

Penix threw a completion that traveled 75 yards in the air.

And then ran a 4.56-4.59 in his 40 at his pro day.

Success.

Howie is good at voiding...

He never pisses away cap space.
