While we're talking about DT and how we have to be patient, maybe the Eagles just need to draft better? The Ravens are a superior team at drafting on defense. Madubuike was pick 71 in 2020. He has doubled Milton Williams career sack total in one year.

For comparison, Milton Williams was taken at pick 73 in 2021.

While I'm not advocating the belief that Milton Williams will have 13 sacks next season, their first 3 years are quite similar in production.

I would argue there is drafting the player, and developing the player.  BAL is likely much better at developing talent on defense.

Agreed, and that wasn't a knock on Milton Williams either. He's flashed serious potential. Man, it would be great if the Eagles brought in coaches who knew how to develop guys.

What do you think about Davis in a RB role ?

Me?   You shouldn't have to ask that

Davis is one of a number of versatile freakbeasts who could be playing offense.

Davis had a TD carry at Georgia.

You could call him a RB if you want,  he'd be primarily expected to block or push, but he could run or catch or take snaps from under center.    I'd definitely have him on the field for the mass plays.   The flying wedge or the legal version of that.

Are people still buying SI swimsuit issues? I sneeze, and porn shows up on my phone; it’s literally that easy.

Our phones sound VERY different. Then again I only have a work phone

Sirianni’s blitz beaters next year will be Jordan Davis vertical routes

Bingo. Talent development has been an issue for a few years. We can denigrate Howie to some extent, but to have most of these recent draft picks be "busts" or inadequate? Yeah not buying it.

The issue is those 0's.   They should be playing some offensive snaps as freakbeasts.

yes.

Carter was a Fullback in High School.
Carter caught a TD pass at Georgia
Davis ran for a TD at Georgia

Any of those big guys,  and DEs too, could in theory be great blockers when the Eagles want to run the ball and run out the clock in the 4th Q.   They would help the Eagles run when the defense knew they were going to run.

Practice something more than just "Hurts to Brown"

People would like seeing the big man TD.   The DTs could all practice as a run blocking Guard or Tackle.   If you want to get a TD for your Oline, you put in the DT on the Oline,  move the Oliner to the backfield,  and have the Oliner get the TD.  Of course,  a backup OL could play OL instead of putting a DT there.

The #1 seeds in the NFC and the AFC  have the first team All Pro Fullback and the second team All Pro Fullback.   People act like it's crazy to try to find a Fullback on the roster when the roster doesn't contain one.    second team All Pro Fullback Ricard of the Ravens never played offense in high school or college.  Always DT.  And then the Ravens (Greg Roman) made him into a All Pro Fullback.

He was one of my guys…

If you were Howie and could only extend one this offseason, would it be Smith or Dickerson?

We’re getting Jack crap tonight aren’t we? And then they’ll play it off like the Sirianni talk wasn’t even a discussion and this meeting was just a standard end of season exit interview and prep for the off-season.

Smith. They do a better job drafting O line replacements than finding an actual great WR.

Having said that, Howie will extend both.  Dickerson and Mailata will retire Eagles.

Falcons are interviewing Harbaugh as well as Belichick.

And Brian Johnson.

Interesting they didn’t close the deal after 2nd meeting with Belichick.

Due diligence, and they have time.  I don't think Belichick has interviewed anywhere else and the market for a coach in his 70s who wants complete autonomy is likely pretty thin -- no matter who it is.

I wonder if he brings Arthur Smith with him for OC.

Smith--skill position player, Eagles have struggled drafting/signing/developing WRs as opposed to guards, who knows what happens with AJ, and Devonta has proven he can be a #1 if needed.I

I like Dickerson a lot, but I wanted Smitty before he even came out of Bama so maybe I'm biased.

Definitely Smitty. We can't develop WRs for whatever reason. But we can develop OL at Stouland U.

Smitty, no question.

I don't think the cap matters as much as we the fans think. The best thing Howie does is contract and cap work.

Oh so he just let 5 defensive starters walk for funsies? Is that it?
