  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Huh

They didn't even get s 2025 pick for him. 2026. Their handling of this Reddick situation is pure idiocy from beginning to end. Their utter paranoia in paying an elite edge rusher and sign a total question mark in Bryce Huff. This offseason blows. I hate what they've done this free agency. They are a worse team than they were when the season ended.

2026?  Really playing long ball with this one 🤦‍♂️

If you're mad that it's 2026, google "Marshmellow test".

If you're mad that Reddick is gone, fair.

(I would have done this trade too).

This is called,  "Howie knows he’ll still be GM then, so his ego proclaims he got his 2nd rounder”

Looking forward to our part time edge rushers, Sweat for the first 5 games, and AARP Graham to wreak havoc.

This. By a good margin too

Now we have enough cap space to sign Greg Ward

They must have been sick of Reddick

Saves 15M next season.

Hate that.

Optimistic view, Reddick will likely hit that criteria so I do believe that pick becomes a 2nd. Jets will be very bad the 2025 season, and it’s easy to imagine Saleh & Douglas will be gone by then. That 2026 2nd will likely be a very high pick.

Otherwise, I’m nervous about our front 7 this year

Well the value is decent but they couldn’t at least get a 2025 pick? 2026 is basically a comp pick if they just let him walk next year

Haven’t been this against a trade, especially considering the return, since the DJax/Shady debacle. Not on that level but that’s the last one I can remember being this discontent with.

They spent a lot of money on Bryce Huff.   Not going to spend big money on both Huff and Reddick.

Also kinda surprised they don’t have a new contract in place already

So we traded Reddick for Huff, a 2026 2nd rounder, and probably about 20m$ in total cap space over the course of their contracts and void years.

That's not how picks work on the NFL though, in terms of how teams value them. It's why you can trade a 2nd in one year for a 1st in the following year in a lot of circumstances with some leverage.

Was it because of his size or because this offense doesn't utilize the middle of the field correctly? Both?

Both probably.  Look at all the tall WRs the Eagles signed this offseason.  Only Campbell and Smith are 6’. Brown and Herbert are 6’1”.  Parker, Austin Watkins, and Ngata are 6’3” and Davis and Harris are 6’5”. Brenden Rice, who they brought in for a visit is 6’2”.  Alinas Smith, who they also brought in, is a return guy like Covey and they are short but backups at best.  Only WRs tied to Eagles interest that are under 6’ are Roman Wilson (5’11”) with blazing speed and Malik Washington at a Pro Day (frankly, he is a Gainwell clone and looks more like a RB than a WR.) All the others are 6’ or more.  I really get the feeling the Eagles are looking for a bit more height in the slot.  I could be wrong but the signs point elsewhere.

Jets could be reaaaaaally bad in 2026.

2026 draft pick?  What the heck?  I guess just banking on Rodgers playing only 1 more year or not being much any good in 2025 if he does.

Awful.  He had to be really at ends with Sirianni or something for the Eagles to just be so aggressive in wanting to get rid of him.

It gets worse

Yea Jets might have gave up that pick for a one year rental. We might dislike the trade, but Jets fans should hate it at the moment

I don’t like it. Reddick was a stud and easy guy to root for.
