Also, no edge has ever played 67 percent of the snaps under Saleh.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Based on the wording, it sounds like the conditions have to be met this year too. Sucks that they couldn’t make it include the 2025 season also but that’s what happens when you have no leverage I guess

That and he's not under contract for 2025 yet.

Since Nolan Smith is a major unknown(and Huff too for that matter to a lesser extent) I'm starting to wonder if the Devin White signing and his ability to blitz and rush the passer is some insurance where if one of the guys they added doesn't work out, they trust Fangio will be able to dial up pressures using Baun and White. Which at that point you're probably SOL if it's come to that.

The flip side of that you could argue is that if you're giving up a 3rd, which could become a 2nd, for a player you know wants a massive contract, you're probably going to have him out there more often than not.

And what about Huff 2020-2022. 7.5 sacks
Reddick, 39.5

Huff is not the player Reddick is. If anything. this year was more of an anomaly for Huff. Reddick is a proven and consistent sack artist. We just got worse on the field with this trade, now way around it.

Reddick had 7.5 sacks his first three seasons. Reddick's career high in sacks was 4.5 until his age 26 season when he had 12.5. Huff had his breakout season at age 25 with 10 sacks. Notice the trend.

I think it's clear the Eagles are very high on Bryce Huff, Nolan Smith and Zach Baun, yes even Baun and quite possibly Julian Okwara.

I hate the compensation. I'd almost rather the pick be a real 3rd round pick in 2024 or 2025, rather than a conditional pick, even if that condition is a 2nd. I have a hard time seeing it become a 2nd with the conditions set too. They can't do anything with this pick to help them this year or even next year since you can't trade conditional picks. They'd rather have nothing from Reddick for 2 years.

I was all for trading Reddick but this stinks.

I do not trust Howie and his teams evaluation and defense building, and this trade really proves it. Next off-season, we're all gonna be here very unhappy I think.

Agreed on all of this.

True, forgot about that part.

Multiple teams inquired but we settled on a conditional 2026 lol

So we give up Reddick and 4.35mm of 2024 cap for Huff, a 2026 3rd and a net gain of 7mm in 2025 cap space. That’s all well and good, but we could have kept both in 2024.

If we use that added cap space to structure a deal from someone like Simmons, this will feel a little better.

And DE/edge is definitely happening with one of our top 3 picks.

Just assume it's a 2026 3rd and enjoy better mental health.

But we are a Super Bowl contender or at least supposed to be. You don't trade away your best defensive player on a hope especially with the way this defense is.

Right because Howie just decided to take less

Huff has surpassed 3.5 sacks one once in his 4 years, combining for 7.5 total before his breakout. Banking on an UDFA part time edge to replace Reddick is about as big a gamble as you can make while being a contender.

Probably not a coincidence this went down the day after Chop Robinson was in the building.

the compensation they got was really underwhelming.

Man Howie being hard on the local boys, first Swift walks, Olamide walks and now he sends Haason packing.

We really now need Smith and Huff to be a immediate contributor or this could be a disaster.

I wonder if Latu falls or maybe a small trade up

Or assume its a 2027 draft pick and have the happy surprise.

It's been awhile since we've drafted an elite edge

Be a real Negladelphian and assume we lose it for tampering with Barkley

First off he was used out of position and second lighting rarely strikes twice
