With how long it's taking I think we get not only the news that Nick is back but news of the new coordinator(s) as well.  They must be staying late finalizing stuff tonight.  

 

My final guess is Brian Johnson is back.  QB coach is gone and Frank Reich takes QB coach and some other titles as well like assistant HC and passing game coordinator.  For DC they will announce a trade of one of their two 2nd round picks to the Dolphins for Vic Fangio.

Lurie was finally meeting with Nick today after Lurie's 3 day binge in Cabo.  Reports leading up to it was this meeting was going to decide Nick's faith based on how he was going to sell how he plans on fixing things and what he'd do with his staff.

For a brief second when I saw Atlanta bringing in Harbaugh for a second in person interview and scheduling a couple more when Belichick was supposed to be almost a done deal, it did make me wonder if Belichick got word the Eagles will soon have an opening and things fell apart with him and Atlanta so the Falcons pivoted elsewhere.

But it's probably the Falcons just doing due diligence.

This organization and Roseman specifically likes to overcorrect at times.  They have been chasing Vic Fangio for two straight DCs now.  They almost had the real one in their grasps and lost him due to Gannon.  I could totally see it.

Falcons are just the prettiest girl at the school dance right now.  They are soaking it in too.  Bringing the two top guys out there in for second interviews and also now landing a Vrabel interview.  They are getting their pick of the litter and credit to them for having the self control to really get a long process look at all of the top coaches out there right now.

There's a better chance of the opposite happening and Howie becomes the HC/GM than what you just described

I Fing hope we get to see that one day.  We all should be hoping to see that as the grand conclusion of Howie's rise.  What if he ended up being awesome at it and just rolled out nothing but like 4 titles in 6 years and then just retired and walked away.  Total mic drop moment.  Just the chance of that being possible, however small it might be, makes more than worthwhile to at least give it a shot.
