Then who was brought in to replace Javon Hargrave?

I'm pretty sure that both Jalen Carter and Cox were on the roster last year.   They both had snaps in the same game,  probably playing at the same time.

I'm not talking about roster building, and the right amount of money to spend at a position.

I'm saying that a roster spot is now open, Cox had about 60% of the snaps,  who is taking the spot and getting the snaps?

I'm not suggesting that one player will necessarily have the exact role that a former player had. Every player has different strengths and maybe brings a different combination of traits to a team. But with the mind set of replacing Hargrave and Cox, The Eagles drafted Davis and Carter in the 1st round of the last two drafts.

Those questions are like asking, "who was brought in to replace Kelce?" The answer is already known. Both Cox and Kelce considered retiring before last season. It wasn't a surprise that caught the Eagles off guard. They prepared in advance.

It's like some of you aren't paying attention. When the Eagles see a situation where a key contributor may leave as a free agent, retire, decline with age, or fail to regain a pre-injury level of play, they almost always have a backup plan in the form of a draft selection. They don't always work out, but there is a plan.

As for the question of "who is taking Fletcher's snaps?" I expect to see Carter, Davis and Williams all see a snap increase. Cox started all 17 games last season. Carter started 1. Carter, barring injury will start all the games this year. Davis will take on the leadership role Cox had. Don't be surprised if he's one of the 2024 captains. Milton Williams played 46% of the snaps last season and I bet he plays near 60% (some at DE) in 2024. He's in a contract year and I think the Eagles may extend him before the season is over. Tuipulotu, Ojomo, and Ellis return to fight for playing time along with any new additions. I am kind of expecting Ojomo to separate himself from the other two. He didn't get a lot of chances last year but played pretty well on his few opportunities. But the Eagles will likely keep at least 5 DTs again and the 5th one will need to be able to play NT as well.

I have no predictions for Booker or Mustipher. The only locks are Carter, Davis and Williams, so they may get a chance to at least impress enough to beat out somebody that was here last year for a roster spot.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Something thats nice in the draft is I think Penix's pro day solidified him in to the top 15 of the draft. Theres really no reason not to.

So, putting another QB in that range will drop another player to the eagles.

Ridiculous for Sixers to rush Embiid back in a lost season. They won’t make it to the 2nd round.

Theres a couple main players out for OKC including Shai. But Maxey is also out so right away you are going to be asking Embiid to carry the team. In his first game back.

Don't sleep on Ojomo, perfect size and athleticism for a 3-4 DE, same with Booker.

You're not asking them to start, but if they can take snaps on run downs, frees Carter and Williams for passing downs.

Watch Harper be their only runs scored tonight

I was a big huge Booker fan in that draft. I really hope he dominates here.

Weird, if you go to PE.com and look at the roster, Parris Campbell is listed under Reserve/Injured

Agree on both. It sounds silly, but Ojomo moving to from 72 to 97 tells me he's a lock to make the roster.

Getting one of Penix or Nix in the top 21 is excellent. If teams like Penix, and pass on a QB early on in the draft (ex: Raiders, Patriots) we're also a good trade down candidate.

Ojomo was one of the only ones that showed up when our defense was complete ass. Hope he can have a good year.

That's reasonable.  They have 60% of one position to fill,  and you think that it would be fine if the starters and the depth got increases,  and Ojomo will get the most increase of the depth.

Watching the edge rushers last year, it's clear everyone was freelancing. Sweat was chasing ghosts. Reddick was the best, but his rushes were completely out of sync with everyone else's (obviously). Smith looked like he was playing contain 90% of the time. No rhyme or reason to any of it, from my POV.

HARPER! GRAND SLAM!

Bryce Harper....3-3

3 HR (1 Grand Slam)

Harper just hit a grand slam- 3rd homer of the night.

3-4. He got robbed of extra bases his last at-bat. Helluva night though. I was concerned his back was bothering him.

My fault. Awesome performance.

I think he’s also one of those weird dudes that keep birds.  Lots of birds.

Almost all of them anyway.

Come on man.  Making it to, and losing in, the 2nd round is their bread and butter.

Tobias has to be the worst multi-year starter I’ve ever seen.

I'm all aboard the Ojomo train.

Penix and Nix shouldn’t be seen as first round prospects, so any team grabbing them in front of the Eagles pick would be great
