Whoa. Just glad it’s not Dallas

If that's all he was traded for, Marshon Lattimore could probably be had for a 2025 4th. Get it done, Howie. Trade prices are cheap these days.

Dan Sileo. Take it with a silo of salt

I can't remember an offseason where every trade compensation sums up as "...that's it?"

Diggs is still only 30. Probably has at least 3 big seasons left in him

Great Value for a 2nd round pick

Eskin said the same thing yesterday. Also said he wanted "well north of 20m” and "isn’t good against the run.”

This feels like Eagles people slandering him on his way out the door though via leaks.

And the replacement Huff is good against the run? Nope he's not

Is Lattimore still good?

Talk about an organization that completely went from the bottom to rocketing up to the top practically overnight.

Caserio potentially turned that Texans franchise into a legit contender in a hurry. Large part in thanks to Carolina being stupid.

When someone more credible than Sileo says this, I might believe it.

It's a 2025 pick so it's REALLY a 3rd round pick, right??

Very, just has injury issues. He makes a lot of money and the Saints are in cap hell so even though there has been zero buzz about him trading for weeks now(it was first reported the Saints would try to trade him over a month ago) I can't see how he doesn't get traded. And he's 28 so they could get a good 3 years out of him which isn't bad.

pretty sure this goes back to the whole rumors of diggs having issues with josh Allen  cause trading him is 31 mil in dead money and a $3.2 mil cap hit according to overthecap

And their head coach and defense.

Seems to have coincided with the addition of one individual...

Wow Texans get Diggs and a pick this year.  Buffalo has to wait until next year.  Minnesota might stink so that could be early 2nd but still great deal for Houston who is going to be scary good.

Load up while you have the rookie qb deal

I don’t think many blog members would be opposed to getting Alt at 12 and only having to part with a 2nd.  Some would, of course. It’s always just a matter of opinion.

The reality is it’s probably not realistic (both us moving up to 12 for just pick #53, and Alt dropping to 12).  I don’t think Alt makes it past pick 7.  Could possibly even be picked by Harbaugh at 5

I think you’re right on all counts but I enjoyed the fantasy for about a minute.

I have no idea why anyone is surprised. Fangio doesn't give a crap about Reddick's sack numbers, he has various packages and players have roles in those packages.

Reddick is not Lawrence Taylor, he's not good enough to adjust your scheme to his talents. There's only a half dozen of these guys in the NFL at any one time.

Which doesn't make him a bad player, rather, a player who isn't a great fit for Fangio, and would be used either as a pass rush specialist or in roles where he's not comfortable (off the LOS as a true 3-4 OLB in some packages). In that case, he'd become what Huff was for the Jets last season, a valuable part-time rotation pass rusher.

If Fangio ran a 4-3 under or a wide 9, Reddick would be a good fit as a 800+ snap player and you'd pay him as such.

But he's not a 3-4 OLB, he's not a base 4-3 DE, and he's certainly not a 3-4 DE. He's a stand up, split wide DE who only fits certain base packages.

Great trade for Buffalo. Diggs was flat out bad in the 2nd half of last year.

With the way that Houston is trending... it is actually going to be very close to an ACTUAL 3rd round pick... This pick could very well be in the 60s in 2025.   I had the Texans as a division winner, and a participant in the 2nd round of the playoffs next year before this trade.   IMO, this trade by itself makes them a likely AFC CG participant if they can land a favorable matchup in the 2nd round.   That points their pick at no higher than 61.   And they can still add some pieces in the draft.    The top 4 in the AFC now are: Chiefs, Ravens, Texans and Dolphins, in that order, IMO.   And a matchup of Houston at Baltimore... I could easily see Houston winning that matchup.

Not to mention that the Bills are giving up a pick THIS year and Diggs to get the delayed gratification of the 2nd in 2025... this isn't a great trade by the Bills at all.   They just got significantly worse for the 2024 season.

Lattimore is turning 28 this year and Diggs is turning 31.
